^^^^I have to agree.....Dirk (although he is a very good player) just isn't a MVP caliber type player....Terry and Howard carried the Mavs last night.....an MVP is supposed to leave his thumb print on the game and Dirk just doesn't give me that feeling (even win the Mavs win)...I'd give it to Nash, Bron, Tmac, or Kobe before Dirk
MVP is a regular season award. Either way you can't say it's a joke. All three of them were pretty close throughout the whole season. Dirk can't do much offensively in this series because Nellie knows what to throw at him. He had many good defensive plays, though.

Rarely does he ever get double teamed 'coz of the talent surrounding him. Terry and Howard deserve to win the Most Valuable Teammates awards then Dirk deserving the MVP. The guy is a liability on defense and if he keeps bricking shots, he's probably the most invaluable player in the league.
What? He's getting doubled by the Warriors every time he puts the ball on the floor. Teams set up their defenses ahead of time to try and shut him down and his presence makes it easier for Howard and Terry to score.

I think this series just shows how much Dallas needs Dirk. He's been playing like crap and the team can't win. Tonight, he finally shows up in the end and gives Dallas another chance to extend the series. Don't tell me that without Dirk, the Mavs could have won 67 games in the regular season with Howard and Terry alone. It just couldn't happen. His horrible play in the playoffs doesn't change the fact that he had a great season and helped his team get the best record. The MVP is a regular season award. Argue that Dirk doesn't deserve playoff MVP.
