Who's tutoring Kwami??? is it Kareem? It just doesn't seem like this dude is learning anything.. I mean, last night was an eye opener on allowing me to realize why Jordan was so hard on him, because no matter how many time he's been told; and I'm sure he's been told MANY times, as far defense goes, to guard the paint. And this dude time-&-time again allows people to go straight to the basket--FRUSTRATING!!!!!!! And as far as offense goes, he just plain SUCKS?. I mean, this dude has NO moves what-so-ever. There's just WEAK, then WEAKER? That?s all he knows? I am convinced this dude SUCKS!!!!!!!! What waste of money!!!!! Another player who I feel is also a complete waste is Vladi?. WOW!!!! That?s all I could say about that? And I don't mean WOW as in, damm this dude is cool? But rather damm this dude SUUUUCKSSSS?. And whats up with head band look he's been trying to sport; the dude looks like he can't let go of the 80s' MY GOD, this team just kills me?. Sometimes I feel like maybe the triangle isn't the system of choice for this team. These guys just look clueless out there especially when comparing them to the teams they play against. Other teams look like they know what they're doing and what they're trying to accomplish?.
I guess Kareem is tutoring Kwame, but I'm not completely sure. Kwame is the biggest waste of talent I have ever seen. The guy is one of the strongest players in the league, if not the strongest. He is extremely quick for a big man, and extremely athletic. Plus, he's also got the height. It's a shame he just can't seem to put it all together. Someone with his natural gifts should be dominating the league right now, but unfortuantely, he just has problems mentally that will never allow him to live up to potential
Yeah, he is such a huge diasappointment, no wonder MJ gave up onn him.. If he had lived up to his potential we could have given the suns a tougher time than there cakewalks right now.
Actually Kareem doesn't tutor Kwame. He offered his services and tutledge to Kwame, but Kwame felt he couldn't learn from Kareem, because Kwame feels he's a face up scorer and not a back to the basket one. Unfortunately, I'm not making this up.

He would have been much better had he received tuitoring.

Plus, how do you not want learn how to score with your back to the basket... That right there tells me a lot about his mentality...
Maybe he would be afrais of criticism from Kareem because playin back to the basket is new to him, so maybe his mental strength would just be even lower after practicing.. But, still that was such a stupid choice.
Yah plus, this guy needs to face up to his fears. If that is true about him being intimidated or having his confidence lowered because somebody is trying to light a fire under him so he could learn about the mistakes he's doing... Like I said, that tells a lot about a persons mentality.... It sucks because the Buss's money has been gambled and I feel that they're losing big-time with the investments they made...
Yeah, it's such a disappointment for the Lakers to be paying so much money on a loser who dosen't take advice from people who are trying to motivate him and make him a better player..

i really dont know what was mitch kupchak tninking when he trade, Caron Butler and Chucky Atkins for Kwame Brown and Laron profit!! we could get a much better deal, if we now had butler, we could trade him for artest
I like Kwame.... yeah he is a bust as a #1 pick but he is a good role player. Last year he played good for us. This yeah his ankle is not letting him play. Also, how can he guard the paint when people blow by our guards and our guards are just standing and watching? They either pass the ball off to whoever Kwame was guarding or make a layup themselves. Our guard D is to blame for everything that is happening! I see one huge thing that you can really blame on him, it is his butter fingers. Got to learn how to catch the ball… there are exercises for that!
I just wish we still had Butler. I think he would've been that other consistent scorer that we needed other than the other fools that we have. BTW, did anybody see the play of Cook in game 2?

I have no problem with Kwame's post defense. He's great at holding position and forcing back to the basket players off their sweet spots on the court. However, when Kwame is put in a situation where he has to decide to show on a pick, or stay back, he makes the wrong decision 90% of the time. Kwame has to have more conviction in his decision making. Often times he's in no man's land on a pick and roll situation and it leads to wide open looks. Playing on a bum ankle certainly makes it difficult to move around and explode off of, but Kwame's judgement gets him out of position more than anything physically wrong with him. I'm also perplexed out how terrible Kwame is at catching the ball. He's been in the league long enough to work on technique and hand strength. Again I think it's mental with Kwame and he doesn't position himself to catch the ball in stride and flush it. He usually not prepared for a pass and it ends up hitting him in the hands or chest, which leads to bobbling the ball and then a turnover. The guy is 7 feet, 270lbs, he should be tearing the rim down when he's in that close to the basket.
I agree that Kwame struggles on pick and roll… but so does every other Laker. A problems with pick and roll is the fact that Suns are just so damn good at both shooting and taking the ball in… so it ends up being pick your poison. A little off topic… For Lakers to be able to compete three things need to happen: 1) No matter what take the ball inside no matter how bad Kwame, Odom, and Bynum are. I would rather have them miss inside but no give Suns a fast break. When Odom posts up Marion, it stops Marion from running on the fast break, which takes me to my next point. 2) Get back on D. Just make it a point to run back like hell. Suns scored 39 fast break points, out of which 20 were probably just because Lakers did not come back. 3) Step back from Barbosa... let him shoot, I would rather have him score 30 pts from the floor then from free-throw line and layups.
