<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Sam Mitchell wondered last night whether Jason Kidd pulled off the "Charade-of-the-Year."

After Jason Kidd sliced up his Raptors with 19 assists, 16 rebounds and 16 points as the Nets captured Game 3 in a 102-89 Meadowlands rout, Mitchell described the Nets point guard's left-knee strain this way: "Supposedly, with this so-called injury he had."

Mitchell's players were baffled afterward that Kidd was classified "a game-time decision" after missing Thursday's practice and visiting doctors in Manhattan.

"No, he didn't look like he had an injury," said Chris Bosh, who looked hurt himself with an invisible 11-point, 3-of-10 outing, clogged by Kidd helping on the double-team. "I know how that is sometimes."

The young Raptors are fast learning playoff gamesmanship. Kidd already had his triple-double sealed midway through the third quarter, running their glorious fastbreak.

"You couldn't tell he had a strained right knee tonight," said a frustrated Mo Peterson, who committed a flagrant foul in the third quarter, bashing a driving Richard Jefferson in the neck. "To do what he did was almost unbelievable. That's what I'm saying, man, 16 and 19, and saying you have a bad wheel, I don't know."</div>

Great claim Mitchell. What does it matter anyway, you lost. As if Kidd has nothing better to do than, fake an injury.

Lol Merc I like your Baby-Vince avatar (as well as your Spidey 3 sig). Kidd was fantastic last night, he doesn't get enough credit. 16 Rebounds for a PG is amazing for anyone not named Magic.

Just because they lost to a guy with a bad knee and gave him one of the greatest triple doubles ever, shouldn't mean they should think he faked it. I expected better from the Raps. [IMG]

    Mitchell's Kidd Talk Stirs Controversy

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Sam Mitchell's throwaway line referring to Jason Kidd's "so-called" knee injury was treated as a disrespectful shot at the future hall of famer in some parts yesterday.

What was meant as a compliment ? the Raptors no more expected Kidd to miss Game 3 than they expected the New Jersey Nets to lie down and play dead ? turned into something of a cause c?l?bre here yesterday.

"They don't have to see me go through what I have to go through to get ready," Kidd said. "Timmy (Nets athletic trainer Tim Walsh) sees what I have to do to get ready. Between the two of us he gets me ready.

"I have confidence in him and the doctor to say that I have nothing to be concerned about. Everybody will have their opinion if I'm hurt or not."</div>

Dunno, it seemed fake to me as well. Why would Kidd say that and ACT like he's not gonna play game 3 when there is no way in hell he'd miss it. To me, it's like making yourself look better by saying u got injured by something and still came out winning. He literally didn't look like he was injured. Then after the nets won, did you notice how Kidd hobbled a bit back to the bench while he didn't do that throughout the game, as if all of a sudden he was injured, haha what a faker. If it really did hurt you, you wouldnt walk so calmly on the court during the game.

Anyways, im gonna say Raps lose this. But Kidd should know better than to say things like that, as if he persevered while injured, you're no Jordan buddy haha. Maybe by saying that, he'd catch the raps offguard, and also the refs would be nicer too, after all, Kidd is a pro and a previous all-star. You can scam your way through games once your old.

He never said or implied that he isn't going to play. The media however reported it, as a game time decision.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"It's the playoffs," Kidd said. "Bumps and bruises you put aside and do everything to help the team. I'll just go out and do what I have been doing this series and, hopefully, get a win tonight."

Kidd said his current injury isn't similar to 2004, when he needed surgery.

"It's just a bruise," Kidd said. "We're dealing with it. It shouldn't be any problem. It should not have an effect on me or my performance."</div>

Your acting as if we're out to scam you. It doesn't matter how injured Kidd was, you still lost the game. The Raptors should not have came out thinking, Kidd wouldn't be a factor in the game because of his "injury".

Bruises are common, however knee strains can keep you from playing for a few days to a week or two depending on how bad it is.

That's incorrect. The Nets (specifically Frank himself) listed Kidd as a game-time decision. Mitchell was just stating that the media took the story and ran with it.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nets coach Lawrence Frank had said earlier Friday that Kidd would be a game-time decision, but Kidd took part in the morning workout and said then that he expected to play.</div>

Uhh, who said anything about it being unfair? That is not the issue. Mitchell was just annoyed that the media was making such a big deal about Kidd's "injury" and that they didn't question whether he was really injured or not.

As you can see by all the press coverage on this stupid issue, the media likes to make every little thing into a huge deal.

Mitchell was a bit cranky himself after game five. That guy needs to cool off a bit.

He's never really had a good relationship with the media. You can tell he hates talking to them. I don't blame him sometimes. The media tries to blow everything out of proportion and create news where there is none.

Who really cares if Mitchell thinks that Kidd wasn't injured? It's his opinion and he is entitled to it. I'm sure he just said what a lot of people were already thinking especially after watching Kidd play that game.

I don't even know why Frank and the Nets were listing Kidd as questionable. There is no way Kidd would have missed that game short of breaking his ankle. Everyone knew that and the Nets knew that.
