Prior to the draft a few years ago, David Carr was grilled for his mechanics even worse then Leinart was this year. VY & Vick were not criticized because they are the "new breed" of QB i.e Athlete who can throw if he decides not to tuck and run 99.4% of the time.</div> This will surely draw fire. The reason is, the media is very desirous of Black QBs to suceed.</div> Really? Truth hurts. p.s. Even Rush Limbaugh?
The Patriots have agreed to a five-year contract with first round pick Laurence Maroney. Terms were not disclosed.
Marcedes Lewis got 700,000 less than kiwunkia even though lewis was drafted like 6 spots ahead of him.
Added 49ers LB Manny Lawson, Patriots RB Laurence Maroney, Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams, and Tampa Bays G Davin Joseph. And it's official, Ngata is a holdout as of yesterday.
49ers TE Vernon Davis official becomes the highest paid tight end in the league as of today and I have the official numbers for Laurence Maroney's contract.
Amazing the difference between what Michael Huff signed for compared to Jay Cutler. I imagine that played a big part in why Al Davis passed on a QB.
What's surprising me is that DeAngelo Williams is making more money than Laurence Maroney and he was drafted higher.
49'ers just signed Vernon Davis to a "Break The Bank" contract... ************ Niners sign first-round pick TE Davis SANTA CLARA, California - It appears that Vernon Davis may be the NFL's highest-paid tight end before he even takes the field. The San Francisco 49ers confirmed the signing of their top pick in the 2006 draft to a five-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but ESPN.com is reporting that the deal is worth more than $23 million. If that's the case, then Davis' contract may have surpassed those given to Pro Bowl tight ends Antonio Gates and Jeremy Shockey. ************** Edit: Ooops...I didn't see MK's earlier V Davis post. Apologies for doubling up.
It appears that 5 yrs 18 million looks about right IMO for Jason Allen. However, talks have hit a snag. The Dolphins want a 6 yr committment.
Hawk will prove worthy of the money. It's funny that QB's and RB's usually get more money but defensive players usually make a sooner impact their rookie year

Good thing he only held out for one day. But it's nothing to be concerned with since they have a bad track record for signing first rounders before training camp. But they played well in their rookie season. Players like... Mark Clayton, Terrell Suggs, and Ed Reed.
just a thing i heard on the news that Vince Young's $58 mill is the most he can possibly get with bonuses and incentives. Mario William's $54 mill is kinda inaccurate he can actually get about $8 mill more in bonuses. Makes a little more sense now. The thing is Vince has about a million more in guarenteed money i think both of them are around the $26 mill guarenteed range
