Man this was 81 all over again, except this time it actually ment something. Have some freaking balls and take a hard foul or something. This team is so freaking soft at times!! especially without garbo. What's funny about this is the guys like Calderon and Parker have been pretty steady in the playoffs while Bosh and TJ are completely out of control. Our NBA tested roster is falling apart while euro leauge (except for Bargnani) looks much more confident.
1. I've been a mitchell supporter towards the end of the season, and yes i do think he deserves the COY.. COY is season-determined, not playoffs.... 2. BUT i can finally satisfy my mind knowing that Sam Mitchell wont be back next year. This is terrible, nets blowing us away in game 3, 4. Come on. You gotta make adjustments and motivate these guys. And please TRADE Tj Ford. 3. Inexperience has killed us so far in this series. But how do you explain the lack of effort by the players... I know and i trust Colangelo will clean house again this offseason. These players completely choked in the playoffs.... I only see Bosh, Calderon, Parker, Bargs, and Garbo as the only untouchables. 4. So next year, expect 7 - 8 new players on this team, including a new COACH. DENG, and GORDON will be nice aquisions. IT was a good season, but these guys arent ready to make a run for the playoffs yet, maybe in 2 -3yrs..... TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE.
We don't need to clean house. We need to make some tweaks here and there. I like our core (Bosh, Bargnani, Ford most of the time). I like our main role players (Parker, Calderon, Garbajosa, Nesterovic). I think Peterson, Graham, and Dixon are expendable and should be used as bait. Humphries, Jackson, Slokar, and Sow aren't major parts of this team yet, but their potential outweighs their trade value, so I think we should let them develop and earn time. We need a swingman who can penetrate and create his own shot opportunities. We need some more rebounding and defense in the front court (hopefully Bargnani improves in this over the offseason). And we need a more competent head coach.
How can those players sleep at night, after getting blown out in game 3 and then coming into game 4 with no effort, no heart and NO brains! I don't even think its Mitchell's fault this time, the players should be responsible for coming into a game with intensity. horrible game, the only player that didnt suck donkey balls was calderon..and he wasnt great either i stopped watching at the half....pethetic
Colangelo Shopping list: 1. Swingman - 2nd consistant offensive threat, guy to take it to the basket non-stop. Funny how we brought this up earlier and everyone (including myself) wanted more of a shooter but I think we need a Maggette on this team to take it to the basket and crash the boards hard. 2. Tough Forward to get rebounds and play D - we are sooo soft in the centre of the court it's not even funny. The raptors might have delt out 3 hard fouls all this year. OR just call up Oakley for game 5, see if he wants a free shot or two. And please: get rid of Joey Graham, it isn't happening. The guy is doomed to be another Jerome Moisio, physical attributes mean nothing if you can't use them consistantly to your advantage.
I finally found a youtube clip of Chuck and Leo talking about Dick Bavetta. Did anybody pick this up on Sunday?
