I hope the Warriors don't win the series.

Otherwise, I'm going to have to listen to people comparing them to the 1994 Sonics for two weeks. And I will cry.

How did Denver go against us in the regular season?

Golden State are 7-1 now and swept them in regular play, so if any team is going to beat them logic would say it is the Warriors.

The 1994 Supersonics and Nuggets split their season series 2-2. [IMG]

I've actually been bringing up that series a lot with people when I talk about the Warriors/Mavs. That series is one of my favorite Playoff memories, I can still clearly see Mutombo grabbed the ball at the end of the game, falling on his back and just crying. New York was another 8 seed to win, but probably due to the shorten season it didn't mean as much as when Denver did it.

It's hard to compare though, because that was a 5 game series, this is a 7 game series, I'm not sure Denver would've won in a 7 game series. Also Seattle had a 2-0 lead that year and Denver had to fight their way back in, the Warriors have had control of this series the whole way.

Just as a note, Denver actually went down 3-0 to Utah in the 2nd round that year and yet again fought back in it, forcing Game 7, which they lost.

There were some similarities with the series though. The Nuggets hadn't been to the playoffs in a couple of years - and they were a very perimeter oriented team with Mahmoud Abdul Rauf and Robert Pack giving us fits and role players like Laphonso Ellis (who played much smaller than he was) and Brian Williams did a good job in a complimentary role.

Mutumbo received most of the credit for our downfall but it was the guards and undersized bigs that gave us the most trouble. Mutumbo impact was only felt on "D". This Mavs and Warriors series is interesting b/c I think that the Mavs really don't believe that they are better than the Warriors - and like scorbotic said when we played the Nuggets I don't that there was ever a true fear that we were going to lose the series--at least until the fourth quarter of Game 5.

I didn't eat for two days after that lost. Kendall Gill's dunk over Mutumbo is still one of greatest memories of my childhood, though.

    Bang.

Dirk, MVP? You're havin' a laugh. Will be embarrassing if he has to accept it now.

Despite what I said, I can't hate the Warriors because their fans were absolutely insane. I have to take my hat off to them. I wish Seattle fans were half that enthusiastic.

Watching the Warriors play vs. Dallas was probably the most fun I've had in watching basketball in a long, long time.

I second that. At the games I went to this season, I noticed many weren't even paying attention to the game, and only one of those was a blowout.
