This guy has been the most overrated player ever since he was drafted. Anyone who watches the Mavs everyday knows this guy is a cup cake. If not for Avery's motivation, the guy would've wet his pants every night thinking about last year's finals.

Again more generalizations. <div class="quote_poster">dallasdude Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">This guy has been the most overrated player ever since he was drafted. In fact, Dirk was top 20 in creating his own shot this year. He's not that stiff, the Warriors have his number. GS had won five of the last six BEFORE entering the series.
Dirk's game is not one requiring him to bang. So that does not make him soft. The guy begs for the ball in the 4th quarter and takes the shots that KG would pass on. Face it, the reason the Mavs are losing this series is not because Dirk is not MVP caliber, he's one of the last reasons they're losing this series. The FIRST one is that Golden State's style is the same style as Mavs, and the second one is that Avery Johnson failed to come up with creative alternatives to counter what was clearly going GS's way.
^^^lmao @ dallasdude.....I like fans like you (I'm like you as a fan), because you can root for your team but call people out when they need to be called out. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dirk's game is not one requiring him to bang. Dirk is easily a top five player when he's not choking in the first round.
i think that dirk doesnt like the knots and frogs that you get when playin 10 feet and in. he is soft. iverson spends more time in the paint than dirk. and thats sad.

Has there even been a well-thought out argument against Dirk in this entire thread? All I've seen is generalizations and lazy accusations that don't have any substance to them: he's soft because he's not a post player, he's not clutch (oops, it looks like he is), "Dirk is Dirk," etc. Aside from his first round struggles (a lot of this is due to an excellent defensive gameplan by Don Nelson... something the Dirk-bashers tend to ignore), he's a legit superstar.

this isn't the first time that Dirkee has choked...if I'm dallas I'd seriously look to move him (you could get A LOT for him)...Howard,Terry, and Harris are great pieces....
