You want Dirk to still shoot when he has 2 or 3 defenders sandwiching him?</div> Exactly. Dirk is a thinking man's player. Most of his game this series has been passing and rebounding. He's not passing cause he's scared to shoot. He's passing cause he believes that is the best strategy to beat this particular team. Even Stackhouse said don't put it on Dirk, that other guys have to step it up.

States also) geared to stop them, but they raised their level of play....and a lot of times Dirk isn't being sandwiched by 2 or 3 defenders, a lot of it is his inability to score on "1" defender. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Even Stackhouse said don't put it on Dirk, that other guys have to step it up. </div> LOL, yes of course he'll say that, do you expect a temmate to come out and say "Dirk needs to bring it, because he's playing like a little biotch right now"???
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I use these examples, because whenever a team is aggressive with Dirk and they really bring the pressure he always seems to wilt away......I don't get how anyone could trust this guy in a REALLY big game in the post season.......Dirk = soft.</div> How about what he did last year in Game 7 in San Antonio against the Spurs? Not to mention he is currently 4-0 in Game 7's. Doesn't seem that bad to me.
He's being collapsed on every time he's about to put the ball on the floor. The Warriors have tweaked their defense to prevent him from taking his defender off the dribble, which is crucial to his offensive game. Honestly, this criticism reminds me of last year's playoffs when everyone got on Kobe for being too passive in Game 7. But the reality was that he realized the Lakers couldn't beat the Suns if he just hogged the ball and put up 50-60 points. He needed the rest of his teammates to be productive and he decided to try and get them in the game early. Dirk's in the same situation. Sure he could put up a shot on every possession, rack up 30 points, and seemingly answer the criticism about his game. But it wouldn't be nearly as efficient and would play right into the Warrior's gameplan.
<div class="quote_poster">GatorsowntheNCAA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Not to mention he is currently 4-0 in Game 7's. </div>End of argument. He's no more a choker than anyone else....How can you be 4-0 in game 7's as the primary option on your team and be a CHOKER? It's basically impossible

Neither has come up with a well-written argument to dispute the facts and statistics.

Why should he be doing something that's not a part of his game? He would only be inefficient and most likely less effective. The Mavericks are built in a way so that he can play to his strengths. B. He can get a shot any time he wants, but that doesn't necessarily mean its a good one. Dirk's game is built on efficiency and the Mavericks can't afford for him to shooting when he has 2-3 guys on him. Should Kobe have been looking for his own shot in that Game 7 last year? Of course not. C. You've mentioned that a lot, but how many times has it happened?

Kobe would definitely be my #1 on taking the GW shot, because he's just so clutch but I would personally rather have Pierce or Dirk who will continue to keep their teammates involved while still taking over during big games. A GW pass is just as good as a GW shot, IMO. (please don't turn this into a Kobe war)
