Talk about a shock to the system. I'm guessing he retired because he wants to be at home with his family. Kind of odd why he retired at this point when training camps opened. Maybe they might use Kyle Turley to take the LT spot. Larry Johnson lost another elite blocker.

BTW, WILLIE ROAF DESERVES A SPOT IN THE HOF!

I agree Roaf belongs in the HOF. Kyle Turley lucks out IMO.

On a related note, enough of the Larry Johnson hype already especially Fantasy Football-wise. LT is the premier RB then S Alexander.

Damn, there is a HUGE difference between the chiefs offense with Roaf in there and when he is out like last year. There running game isnt as effective when Roaf isnt in the game.

If the Packers played the Chiefs, Madden's head would explode.

He is actually farve's biggest fan. Farve made a deal so madden has to like him the most.

It all depends on which game Madden is calling. If he were doing the Pats then he'd be Brady's biggest fan.

I wonder if Al Michaels always wears a Hazmat suit just in case the inevitable happens

Chiefs fans take it from the Packer fans. O-lineman of his caliber aren't easily replaced. Could be as big as Seattle losing Hutchinson

Roaf retiring definatly sucks for all the people who already drafted and took LJ at the #1 pick

I think instead of L J getting 2100 yards his total will drop to 1800 yards, because with Roaf in there you could get 4 yards without hardly trying. They also lost their starting RT to retirement to.

Roaf missed a lot of time last year and LJ did alright. I still think he'll be fine this year. 1700 yards and 10+ TD's in my opinion.

I have to agree that LJ will still have a great season this year, maybe even break some records. I mean he really impressed me last year, he rushed for more yards then everyone but Shaun Alexander and Tiki Barber did in an entire season in 9 games.

In the games that Willie Roaf was out LJ only avg 3.6 yards a carry

But now they have all training camp and preseason to get used to playing without him.

I have to admit to a little sigh of relief when I read Roaf was retiring. Every little bit helps, especially when your team plays them twice.
