I heard this on sports radio. Who has been a bigger bust in 2 sports than henson. He obviously isnt the guy in dallas, and the yankees wont be calling him anytime soon. Is there anyone who has been bigger bust in 2 sports?

Probably not. Usually a guy who is good enough to make it in both will excell in one of them. Be interesting to see what Jeremy Bloom can do. He maybe should of consentrated on football

I think BF1 is right. I can't think of any 2 Sport busts other than Drew Henson. Especially major sports especially going to the sports biggest teams. Dallas and New York Yankees.

Not surprising from the man who once proudly displayed in his signature, "Bearsfan1 is the smartest man to ever walk the earth"

Henson did alright in NFLE but not great. Him and the all time NCAA passer Timmy Chang split time on the field. Henson completed 109 of 203, 53.7%, 10 TDs and 3 INTS for 1321 yards.

Not bad considering Jake Delhomme first season in NFLE he threw 0 TDS and 4 INTS, and completing 31% of his passes.

Quincy Carter failed in two sports....Josh Booty comes to mind, he was the 5th overall pick in 1994....Chris Wienke was drafted about the same spot in the NFL after failing at baseball....

Yeah. All true . . but!

Quincy wasnt the bonus baby in baseball, and actually had some success at football (He played for parcells, where henson isnt) Booty was a bonus baby in baseball, but was never expected to dominate in football. Weinke, wasnt bonus baby in football, and was a 5th rd pick as a qb in nfl, he isnt a bust, he is exactly where 5th rd qbs go usually, backup role.

Lion fans from last year know chris weinke isnt a bust because Weinke lead a game winning drive when jake got the shit knocked out of him.

Akili Smith wasn't the biggest bust but s/b considered as someone who tanked in a big way in the NFL.

Henson was a 7th rd under different circumstances
Booty was drafted a 7th rd pick under the impression he would play football.
Henson was drafted as a 7th rd pick cuz he was playing baseball and the texans hoped they could get something for him. If he was all in football he would have been at worst a 2nd rder

and the cowboys traded a 3rd rounder for him as well I beleive, you can't expect much from Michigan QB's its not like one of them could win 3 superbowls or something crazy like that [IMG]

Bottomline....Henson was drafted in the 3rd round of the baseball draft and in the 6th round of the football draft....Booty was 1st in baseball and 7th in football....so he must be a bigger bust....his baseball failures alone are nearly as big as Hensons combined failures....btw, Henson is not a bust yet....hes 26 years old, and he took a few years off so in terms of football years, hes even younger....the league is full of guys that didnt start consistently until they were closer to 30....he very well may be the heir apparant to Bledsoe in Dallas....

No. You are wrong. You aregument is flawed. It is different circumstances, no one expected from booty in football what was expected from henson. He is a bust, he cant be romo out for backup spot. His point above about a 3rd pick being traded for him, makes him worth at least a 3rd, and taht was to preempt him reentering draft and having to use a 2nd rd pick to get him. You know it. I know it. The whole world knows it. You are wrong.

You youngsters need to look back in history to see the biggest bust ever. And speaking of busts, who could forget Todd Marinovich and his many pot busts? 9,100+ yards as a high school QB, a free pass to USC, and a dad on the RAIDER coaching staff. What a fit. Several pot busts, cultivation of pot busts, and a posession of heroin bust later... Now that's a first round QB bust if there ever was one.
