<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">TORONTO -- With their top two point guards injured, rest is the Toronto Raptors' top priority. Neither T.J. Ford nor Jose Calderon practiced Wednesday, one day after getting hurt during the Game 5 victory against the New Jersey Nets. "These extra days are going to be nice for both of us," said Calderon, who scored a career-high 25 points in Tuesday's 98-96 first-round playoff series win. Game 6 is Friday night in New Jersey. Ford left Tuesday night's game in the second quarter after a hard collision with Vince Carter caused pain and numbness in his neck, shoulders and arms. Still sore, Ford planned to see a doctor again later Wednesday. Asked whether he'll play Friday, Ford said: "We'll see." Calderon, hobbling around on a sprained and swollen right ankle, was more optimistic. "I can't put too much weight on my ankle right now, but I feel better," he said. "Even with pain, I'm going to try to play for sure. ... I could play today if I had to." Still, the Raptors used Wednesday's practice to make sure guards Darrick Martin and Juan Dixon are ready if needed. "We've got until Friday to figure it out," Raptors coach Sam Mitchell said. "Trust me, we'll come up with something. It might even surprise you a little bit."</div> <div align="center">Source: ESPN.com</div> Calderon's situation seems a little more optimistic, but I don't know what's going to happen with Ford. I don't even know what a "stinger" is. If we can get him to at least come off the bench, I think we'll stand a chance. Also, I was intrigued by Mitchell's comments. He sounds crafty, lol.
BC said in an interview that either Parker or Dixon will play the point if neither Ford or Calderon can play.
Playing D-mart might actually be interesting if we could get him to pass. That guy will not hesitate to shoot if NJ goes under the screen, he's like a crappy version of Mike James. Bottem line is CB4 has to step up, he's been MIA this entire series. We should more than be able to impose ourselves on NJ's front court, I do not understand why we haven't yet.
Updates: RAPTORS FACE LONG ODDS: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jose Calderon paused between limps to list the treatments his sprained right ankle faced in the ensuing 54 hours. "A little bit of everything,'' he said, naming ice, massage, heat and electric stimulation as possible correctives to get him available for tomorrow's Game 6 against the Nets. What? No mention of dancing onstage with Nelly? Isn't that an old-time remedy? There wasn't much yukking yesterday in Raptorland, where they're severely up against it now. Calderon tried to put on a brave face about five minutes after T.J. Ford was spotted walking like a posture-school beginner in his first try at moving with a book balanced on his head. Either that or the poor guy's ball cap weighed 50 pounds. Senior citizens on aluminum walkers would have been able to beat either off the dribble yesterday, so gingerly were Calderon and Ford travelling. Mind you, both are young and strong and the body has great recuperative powers and the game isn't until tomorrow night. So who knows? Sports lore is full of players rising from a sick bed to register monumental accomplishments. Not often, but it happens. Ford, to his credit, is a gamer and Calderon also seems so inclined. You know being hurt, with such a daunting task ahead of a healthy team, is eating at both of them. Officially, both Calderon and Ford are listed as questionable for a game in which the Nets opened as 61/2-point favourites and seem worth every bit of that, given the way they twice destroyed a healthier set of Raps in this series' third and fourth games.</div> Source: Toronto Star WEDNESDAY BULLETS: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ok, follow closely: ESPN's Andy Katz talked to Rick Barnes, who coached T.J.
