After reading the Theisman thread and found out I wasn't the only one who didn't care for him I was wondering who your favorite crew is and who you're looking forward to this year from the new ones. Al and John are the obvious favorites but other then that I'm a Joe Buck fan. I hate Collinsworth and yet when him and Troy were with Joe that was a good mix and probably my favorite. For humour sake I enjoy the preseason games when you get to watch the half baked announcers from the teams crew. I remember 2 years ago Baldinger was doing the Vikings and thought he was off air and could hear him swearing. LOL
Al Michaels, Frank Gifford and Dan Dierdorf is my all time favorite team... I grew up watching them for many, many years on Monday Night Football. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman grew in leaps and bounds together. I also liked them a lot.
John Madden and Al Michaels are definately the greatest announcers, even though Madden says some stupid stuff sometimes. I think the latest one was when he got mustard on his red tie and it made a green spot, so he said that yellow and red made green.

He is to Football announcing what Tim McCarver is to Baseball & Bill Walton is to the NBA. These daysI don't have a favorite announcing crew. Rather, there are many I don't like; Kevin Harlan, Randy Cross, Dan D, Collinsworth, Theisman. Summerall & Madden back in the day were okay. I remember Howard Cosell doing MNF when I was real young & he will always be my favorite.

I've met a lot more people who hate him than like him. I, personally, thought he was a good fit with Michaels and Gifford. Dierdorf had some rough years there after leaving MNF, but I really think he improved after that. The last time I heard him call a game, I was really impressed.

If Dierdorf & Harlan were ever to do a game, I'd stop watching football. Dick Enberg & Don Criqui were real good back in the day (late 80's/early 90's).
Most announcers annoy me. Joe Buck is probably my favorite, although he lost a ton of points with his reaction to the Randy Moss "Moons over My Hammy" incident. If you ever hear play by play from the Vikings local radio broadcast, you will definitely hear Paul Allen (PA). IMO he is one of the better announcers, although he is a complete homer. My guess is that the Twin Cities will only be able to hold on to PA for a few more years before he goes national...he's too big for this market.
I never liked Joe Buck for football or baseball. I like Musberger & Jackson but of course they only do college games. Dick Stockton is ok. Madden & Michaels bore me. Maybe the best announcer is on radio Howard David.
I always like Pat Summeral as the the play by play guy. I thought he was one of the best. Trico is good as well.

Here in Manitoba get the FAN and if he wasn't for the Vikings I'd love listening to him. Problem is when Favre gets picked off and he's yelling Ya, Ya makes me crush my radio but if he was for my team I'd like him even though the Common Man is always giving him a hard time LOL
