I actually think that JVG style suit the players we have the best. I mean who else can create shots? We arent an athletic team. We are a team thats filled with role players. This is probably the best offensive scheme considering the type of team we have.

Remember he's the one who said Yao, Mobley and Francis were not going to get it done so he traded 3 out of our 5 starters. He put this roster together piece by piece, he also wanted Skip instead of Mike James. Good ol' JVG.
Dont know about you guys, but I think we would've been much better if we had Don Nelson as our coach (yes I realize this is wishful thinking but still...) Who knows how much better Yao could've been if he was coached by someone as radical/talented/offensive minded as Nellie. Now I'm not completely for JVG getting fired, but I think we could've done a better job on the offensive end, specifically in terms of everything about Yao and TMac's much needed aggresive, get to the rim attitude.
motivational coach like dana white '**** not makin weight' 'im fuckin sick of it' ..screw mr morbid aka jvg

Not only that, but ON OUR HOME COURT! The same team that "can't create shots" and isn't "athletic" is specifically crafted around JVG's style of play. Every athlete we've brought in has either been shipped off or put on the inactive list. Can we be realizstic

If you didn't like Chuck Hayes starting, you wanted Juwan to start? He has been horrible for most of the series (games 1 through 4). My theory about you is correct though. If Juwan plays badly, you never mention it. You just go on continuing knocking on Hayes. You forget, your man Juwan is part of the bench. I guess its quite convenient to blame his poor play, rather than realizing the truth.

Each game we got outscored in the first half. That means we got off to poor starts offensivley. Kirlenko repeatley sagged off Hayes and pestered Yao. Starting Hayes is the equivalent to Jerry Sloan starting Milsap. Milsap is a good hustle player, but he's not a starter in this league. Niether is Chuck....Except on a JVG coached team I've been wrong about a few things, but for the most part I've been pretty on point about how we'd do under JVG. From Bonzi, to our jumpshooting, to Utah guarding Tmac and how they defended Yao. How can you guys attack Bonzi Wells for supposedly "quiting", and not have absolutley NOTHIN to say when JVG does it. That's very hypocritcal
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">^^^yes it is......</div>I think if JVG thinks it through and actually talks to players on the team (Tmac, Yao, Battier, etc) he would probably reconsider. I think JVG actually plays a style that is needed for the Rockets, when you have Yao your team is most efficient with a slowed down half court game. I hope that JVG wasn't pressured to leave the organization.

Simply utilizing Yao's highpost passing skills could be enough to help get limited offensive players like Battier and Hayes easy shots without putting them in position to have to create their own shot.

Anyways if we do obtain a better pf, Juwan would be the one that needs to go (considering how much money he is getting paid). Hayes would be a good candidate coming off the bench. Actually as far as offense goes, I think Hayes could actually be a reliable scorer under the right team and offensive sets. He has very good finishing abilities. He doesn't get that much oppurtunities because our offense is very static and doesn't move around.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ArSA...=yhoo&type=lgns Van Gundy out By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports May 6, 2007 Adrian Wojnarowski Yahoo! Sports Unless Jeff Van Gundy has a change of heart about wanting to continue as coach, he will not sign a contract extension and stay with the Houston Rockets, league sources said. This has been a decision that Van Gundy has considered for months, something he has discussed at length with his wife, Kim, and his closest confidants. Van Gundy turned down a contract extension in February, an offer which came too late considering how little confidence the organization showed in him after the 2005-2006 season. After that 33-victory season in which his team was decimated by injuries, Van Gundy associates said he was taken aback by a volatile meeting with owner Les Alexander, who blamed him for poor attendance and a doom-and-gloom attitude that made it difficult to market the franchise. Van Gundy would've signed an extension then, but he was told to enter the final year of his contract. Once he delivered a 2006-2007 season that made him a top coach of the year candidate, more than one extension offer was made, but he told management to wait until season's end to discuss his future. The Rockets' season ended Saturday night in a Game 7 first-round loss to the Utah Jazz. ADVERTISEMENT Now, Van Gundy has all but decided to leave the job after four seasons. His family is comfortable in Houston, and sources said he has no interest in pursuing other coaching jobs and moving again. His future could include a return to TNT as a television analyst. Van Gundy has had some heartbreaking playoff losses with the Rockets, including Game 7 defeats to the Dallas Mavericks and Jazz in two of the past three seasons. Nevertheless, Tracy McGrady has played the best all-around basketball of his career under Van Gundy, and 7-foot-6 Yao Ming has made significant strides toward becoming one of the league's most dominant forces. Houston hasn't drafted well, nor have the Rockets signed significant free agents in his four years as coach. Still, Van Gundy resurrected Dikembe Mutombo and Juwan Howard for productive seasons, and he found a way to maximize the limited potential of Chuck Hayes, an undrafted player, as his starting power forward. Daryl Morey, who takes over for Carroll Dawson as the Rockets' general manager this offseason, recently told Yahoo! Sports that he had hoped to re-sign Van Gundy and said that he believed it worked in the Rockets' favor that Van Gundy had "the best talent he's had in his coaching career" with the Rockets. "He's the best coach that I've ever played for," McGrady said after the Game 7 loss. "I have a lot of respect for him. I hope he's back." Van Gundy would be a sought-after free agent, but he recently told Yahoo! Sports that his wife and oldest daughter, Mattie, do not want to move, and Van Gundy said he has no interest in uprooting his daughter when she's so happy with school and friends. Considering that Morey's background is in statistics (he's a former colleague of Bill James), it would make sense for the Rockets to include Van Gundy as a peer when it comes to player personnel, but Alexander doesn't seem inclined to do so. In fact, the Houston owner has told friends in the league that he wishes the Rockets would play a much faster style, like the Phoenix Suns. With Yao as his franchise player, and one of the most unathletic rosters in the Western Conference, it's hard to understand why a coach would try that with the Rockets. As it looks now, Alexander will get the chance to find his man. It's funny how people keep knocking on Houston as a bad place to live, yet tons of athletes (and coach) seem to like to stay in Houston, even after their career is over with Houston.
