Mutombo said he'd take some time over the summer months to make his decision. Mutombo and forward Chuck Hayes are the lone free agents on the team. "I just spent the week with my kids and talked to my wife about it again," Mutombo said. "I'm going to see how my summer goes. I'm just frustrated with the fact that there was a chance for us to go to the second round." </div> http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Notes_Muto...-224331-34.html With all these things happening at once, it makes it seem like our team is falling apart. If Mutombo does retire, aside from Yao, we would have a really undersized front line and probally need to use some that MLE to cover the hole.
Wut about Jake Tsakalitis we spent our exception on him. Also, mutumbo is definetly getting up in years now and every off season without a doubt he will be thinking about it.
Mutombo said he'd stay one more year and he thought he was still fit. I believe so. He is like what 41 or 42? and he is still packing people's sh*t. He was really effective when Yao was out. I say 1-2 more years.
He's already 40 (41 in June) and averaged 5.7 minutes in the Utah series. I doubt he'll be of value to this team.
I think Dikembe is actually quite valuable to the Rockets, he can still anchor a defense and makes good decision making. I think the Rockets would have to spend 2.5 mill (if they get lucky) - 5 mill in the off-season to find an effective backup center for Yao.
The problem isn't Deke. It's he might not fit in as well we thought he'd would. When Yao goes out, we need to get quicker. That's why somebody like Cato would be valuable to our team. Deke's inability to catch the ball really hurts us at time. Especially when we need a basket. But I still love the guy tho
