As much as I want a new coach (and I want one real badly to open up Yao's game to more than just a post up player), I wonder, how many coaches out there could have taken us past the 50 games mark considering the situation. I know when Yao went down, my first thought was "well we can try to shoot for the 8th spot now". I guess its funny how we take our success for granted. My opinion of JVG is very mixed. I think he is a great defensive minded coach. It's just that his offensive creativity and unwillingness to develop the bench frustrates the hell out of me. He went with the "safe" route, which enabled us to win so many games. In the end, it bit us. But with all that said, I still thought that no other coach could have taken us to 50 games. We lost to Utah, which we could have gotten away with, if it werent for our inability to get those last 3 rebounds. Its amazing how 3 rebounds is the difference between Fire JVG and GJ JVG.

We had homecourt advantage in the playoffs, won are first 2 games, and still LOST. Not to mention this is the SECOND time that's happened under JVG. PLUS, we've got nothin but OLDER since he's been here. During JVG's time here, he's brought in Mark Jackson, Charles Oakley, Charlie Ward, Vin Baker, Rod Strickland & Rick Brunson. All of which aren't in the league as of the momment. Is that what Rocket fans wanna see for the future? HELL NO! JVG SHOULD BE TERMINATED!!!! I don't know how else to put it..............

The Jazz knew our whole game plan.

JVG didn't make any adjustments and relied on the same strategy. We lost. He should be fired.

I guess many fans think its championship or nothing, but this season was truly special. TBH, I hadn't been this excited about Rockets basketball since 97. He helped buy tickets for the rowdies. He helped the team go 20-12 when everyone thought our season was in jeapordy. A lot of players respect him. Do I want a new coach. Yes. Do I think hes done a lot for our club? Yes. Is he a very good coach? Yes. I don't see why I can't believe in all 3 statements. You seem to be completely polarized against JVG. If hes not a playoff coach, I guess him bringing the Knicks to the finals was a fluke then.

But I agree, JVG did a good job during the Rockets regular season.

The pace of the game mixed with JVG's "slug it out" type coaching doesn't mix well (especially in the playoffs) You calling this season "special" really annoys the heck outta me. We're the oldest team in the league. We don't have any real trade bait and we're not a significant player in the draft. If losing another 2-0 lead in the playoffs and gettting eliminated AGAIN warrants admiration from you than so be it. I'll have to disagree

Wtf kinda stupid **** are you smoking. Yao, Tmac, Battier, Hayes....Thats right. All 4 of our starters are young! Alston is around 30 or 31. The other 2 older people are Mutumbo and Howard. Are you saying we are older than Miami...last years champions? Are you saying we are older than the Spurs? Are you also saying that we are older than the Pistons? Jesus, why don't you actually research even a little bit before spouting bullshit again. If I annoy you, thats good. In fact thats a compliment seeing how any sort of intelligent comment annoys you. If you are annoyed by the fact that I enjoyed this season, then so be it. Maybe you should just stop watching the Rockets and go follow the Suns. "Obcourse"

Average age of league?s 7 best teams: Dallas Mavericks - 27.3 Phoenix Suns - 29.2 Utah Jazz - 25.1 San Antonio Spurs - 29.6 Detroit Pistons - 28.3 Houston Rockets - 27.8 Cleveland Cavaliers - 27.5 ? Our veterans aren't as athletic as Detroits or San Antonio's. JVG has implanted as many unathletic players on this team then any other coach. The problems with that is we don't have any trade bait, makin it hard for trades.

Snyder was not used properly, and to that point well maybe Swift either. The only player that may have some value is Head but not much.
