sht!!! I believe we lost! Oh well, "big size and pretty" good speed beats "all speed, no size" in the playoffs. Just think if we just had a guy like Amare Stoudamire we could have been able to score more points in the paint and less trying to take stupid threes. Also, I am so disappointed in Ellis and Jrich... They better get with it in their second years as playoff veterans. It was a good run all year. Who would have thought we'd make the playoffs just barely and then beat the #1 seed. I still believe we need a balanced attack and I hope Mullin starts working really hard to find the answer at the 4 and 5 spots. We talk about Beans as a double double guy, but I didn't see any consistency with the way he got outmuscled down in the block.
Beans got schooled by an All-Star, not a big deal. Plus he was not getting any help from the other 4 guys so he's basically fighting Boozer, Okur and Kirilenko by himself.

Too many 3's not enough layups. in dallas they got to the cup more. but you guys will be better next yaer and will have a full year to grow as a team.

We had no depth to protect him, Baron, and Sjax. All those other guys we had that we thought were good in the regular season were hiding except for maybe one or two games. It's no wonder we couldn't keep trucking despite being so close in scoring. This will be Mullin's toughest offseason ever. He can't afford another Fisher, Foyle, Murphy, Dunleavy, or to stand pat after he signed such duds.
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">lmao, but I thought Nelson made a mistake by going away from the backcourt of Ellis and Davis in the 2nd half....</div> Yeah, that's the problem with this lineup sometime. Everything is created off the drive and kick (similar to Chicago, only with a stronger frontcourt). When guys like Sjax, Ellis, and Baron are sailing to the rim it makes it so much easier for streaky scorers like Richardson and Harrington to do their thing because it opens up the floor for one of them. It'd even get streakier guys like Barnes and Pietrus involved because they can finish it pretty well with an open lane. Ellis... dang... I feel like Ellis wasn't living up to the MIP award... man he just wasn't a factor in this playoff series and that made it that much harder to get something created off the drive. Guys like Sjax are decent, but he's like a 1:1 assist to turnover ratio type guy when he tries to go at it risky with the overdribble. Then Harrington is a bit selfish and he's a 1:1 guy or mostly 0:2 guy even when he's trying to make plays. Richardson, doesn't pass it well off the drive (because mainly he can't really drive that well still to split defenders or leave guys frozen). I know Nelson doesn't really like post scorers, but that could have saved our butts if Ellis/Sjax didn't show up and two of our 18ppg type scorers aren't doing jack (Harrington, Richardson). Ellis, even if he sucks as a playmaker, could have been used as a scorer, but he wasn't even doing that. Then on defense, he could handle Fisher, but not a stronger point guard that actually knows what he's doing with the ball in hand (Deron Williams). If we had to choose between which guys we wanted for the playoffs, it'd have to be Fisher over Ellis if we're trying to shoot the three all the time and actually make free throws. That's why Fisher and guys like Robert Horry get the respect in the playoffs, because they sure aren't much of a regular season type players...

I believe, still.</div> To me, this is an indicator of the need for some more athletic depth (sorry if i'm stating the very obvious LOL)..the ability to go 9 1/2 deep, more for keeping key guys playing sane minutes throughout the regular season , so they have the gas to go deep into the playoffs. I mean, the conditioning is there now, but the 7-8 man rotation kept running out of gas.

They just weren't. AH and Ellis fizzled the most.

On the other hand, Ellis looked nothing like the guy we saw in the regular season, especially what we saw of him in the second half of the season.

Just like how none of our bizarre superstitutions worked or fit a pattern. (We can say it has no affect in the playoffs, only regular season just like Ellis and AH!!) The Warriors will miss the playoffs next year! (anti-jinx)
