Unless he plays 48 minutes, I guess the Suns have put Pat Burke or Sean Marks on him

This will give Phoenix a better chance to run and gun, but they will miss Amare's presence in the paint. I said the Suns would win it in 6, but this may push it back to 7. The NBA screwed up with the suspensions, they should have just left this series alone, but they care more about their image than they do about the game. I still think the Suns will more than likely win it in 6.

I told myself I would not watch the NBA this entire year, yet I have watched bits and pieces. BUT, never again will I watch and cheer with the same passion as I did before. I used to schedule my days around playoff games and important regular season games, but now, if I'm available, I'll watch a bit of it, if not, I didn't care enough to watch. The NBA has definitely lost this fan.
If Horry's intention was to purposely do something stupid to sacrifice himself in exchange for the Suns' better players, then he's a genius but I doubt it. How can they suspend Amare and Diaw for coming off the bench? It's a fuckin instinct to do that when that's happening. **** the NBA ****. They probably all caucasians behind the office.

They broke the rules you should not expect special treatment no matter who you are. I think it is time for them to change that rule though, but anyways I thought it was a fair move suspend Horry 2 games, and Boris & Amare one.

Let's keep this civil fellas, or it'll be shut down. Follow the guidelines. No baiting, cussing, personal attacks, etc...
It is a really stupid rule, but at the end of the day it is a rule...and the league had to execute upon it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">anybody that the league clearly supports the Spurs and their thug play style.</div> I don't like the Spurs, but that was a VERY idiotic statement.
The big gift given to Robert Horry and his Spurs got me motivated today to do something I almost did during the Melo-J.R. Smith massive suspensions, namely, to investigate whether David Stern and Stu Jackson's theories about altercations and unsportsmanlike acts hold any water or not. They think that heavy suspensions will reduce unsportsmanlike acts and eliminate or almost eliminate altercations. The leave the bench rule has been in effect for more than 10 years, and suspensions in general have become longer and longer. But neither has had any effect on the number of incidents with fines and suspensions. To make this more clear, I should say that fines and suspensions are based on altercations, incidents that could have easily developed into altercations, and on unsportsmanlike acts unrelated to altercations. David Stern and Stu Jackson think, or at least want people to believe, that their approach has reduced altercations and unsportsmanlike actions, but the evidence proves that their approach has no effect whatsoever. Going around the internet, I have seen some writers, trying to back up Stern and Jackson, claim that altercations are down from previous years, without providing any proof. I have found evidence that the bad stuff has not come down at all over the recent years. The number of incidents has been more or less the same over the recent years. <u>Number of Incidents Leading to Fines and/or Suspensions</u> 1995 52 1996 56 1997 53 1998 N 1999 56 2000 67 2001 86 2002 80 2003 61 2004 84 2005 63 2006 66 1998 is not available due to incomplete data Counts accurate to +/- 1 Source for Compilation of NBA Fines & Suspensions
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/6815442...P>1=10035 ^^^good article here.... a few years ago Shaq and some other lakers left the bench during the Fox and Christie brawl and none were suspended (those that left the bench), because the NBA ruled that they weren't trying to "worsten the situation"....there was no "proof" or hardcore evidence showing that Amare or Diaw were going to worsten the situation..... chances are we'll have a boring ass conference finals with Utah and S.A. (no offense to Jazz or Spurs fans) and the league will have record lows in the ratings, because they're so damn concerned with their "image"....I know I won't be watching...and I'm a diehard basketball fan....

Meanwhile, if one happens in the NBA the league would be liable to some major lawsuits should the fans get injured. Although, i don't agree with the suspensions of Amare and Diaw, I do understand why the league would have some type of rule in place to prevent players from leaving the bench area during an altercation.

You don't say!?! I agree that it's all bullshit. Either suspend everyone that was involved (Duncan, Horry, Bowen Diaw, Amare), or suspend Horry for only 1 game.

They play real basketball and execute with precision. These teams are here for a reason, they had to beat people and out execute them. Just because they're actually playing organized ball doesn't mean they're boring. If you don't like them, then why do you watch basketball?
^^^one of the reasons I won't watch is because of the repeated stupidity of our league....and yes I'm a diehard basketball fan, but Utah and S.A. isn't the most "exciting" series as an everyday basketball fan...sorry, it's just the way I feel....

Other than the Artest fight, I can't remember the last time. Off hand in baseball, I can remember 2 times when fans got into with players just in the last 5 years or so.
