<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Heat blamed a roster-wide rash of injuries for derailing its NBA title defense and contributing to its first-round playoff exit this season. There's a pretty good chance the team will limp into next season, too. Heat guard Dwyane Wade underwent surgical procedures Tuesday to repair his dislocated left shoulder and the patellar tendon in his left knee. The recovery process for both surgeries is expected to last four to six months and could keep Wade out through the first few weeks of the 2007-08 season. Wade could not be reached for comment. Henry Thomas, Wade's Chicago-based agent, said Tuesday he had not had a chance to speak with Wade immediately after surgery but said there were no complications. Wade's decision to have the surgeries came two weeks after the Heat was swept by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the playoffs. ''Everything went well and he's looking forward to getting back on the basketball court and getting out of the first round of the playoffs again,'' Thomas said. ``He's not used to this. But everything is pointing to him having a full recovery.'' Thomas said Wade will most likely miss Team USA's Olympic qualifying tournament that starts Aug. 22 in Las Vegas while he recovers. But it's likely Wade would have a spot on the team if it qualifies for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Wade dislocated his shoulder during a Feb. 21 loss at Houston and missed 23 games. He opted not to have immediate surgery, which would have ended his season, and instead spent the next five weeks treating the shoulder with therapy. </div> Source Good news. Hopefully he'll recover quickly and not have to miss a part of next year.
its expected that he'll miss the olympic qualifying games over the summer though...but it should be great to have him back and healthy next year.

We get Kobe back this summer. Wade should focus on the important season and not a summer qualifier. Definately glad he opted for early surgery and not playing in the trials.
