I know it's rare for the NBA higher ups to reduce a suspension, but there seems to be a lot of backlash on this ruling. Is it possible for the Suns to appeal both Amare's and Diaw's suspension? I doubt Amare would have his reversed, but I think there's a strong chance for Diaw. Especially if they use Duncan stepping out on the court as a comparison to what Diaw did.
No, they cannot appeal to play in game 5. They can only appeal for lost salary. Only thing they can do is make a strong argument against that how Duncan and Bowen stepped on the court. But it won't win, since Stern and Jackson are hard headed stubborn bastards and go by their decisions regardless.
In other leagues you can appeal a suspension and still play in the next game, I wish it were the same, because losing Amare and Diaw for the game in San Antonio would be far better than losing them for a home game. If they lose the next game (which is now almost inevitable) now Phoenix has a must-win game in San Antonio.
