Do you realize how simple of a player Farmar is? He's nothing special. At most in his career, he's a 13 and 6 player. That is so easy to replace. If he can land us a big name player as part of a package, he's easy to let go.
I'd love to keep Farmar, but he is no star. I agree. If we can package him for talent we need to win a championship, I'd pull the trigger. Its all about getting the right talent to surround Kobe to win a championship now.
we should keep farmar unless he can reel in some sort KG type player. he knows the triangle well, is a smart point gaurd, if we can hold on to him he could become a very valuable player to this team and to this teams style of play. we can mold him into the player we need and over a couple years, he will become a very valuable point gaurd. this doesnt mean to say that he will be a star, but if we can build ourselves the exact gaurd that we need with farmar then we should keep him around.
I'm down for ditching him if he helps us reel in a KG or a JO. At this moment, a true PG isn't something we're necessarily in need of, we need more of a post prescence.
If the trade is for KG or JO, i would say trade anyone on the Lakers, but Kobe ofcourse. No 2nd thoughts about it.
I never understood the Farmer love. I mean he's a likeable guy and a likeable player, but his upside is limited. He is essentially Tyronn Lue 2.0
I think it's because he's a local UCLA guy. I don't know, PG's like him come around as often as Paris Hilton spreads her legs. He's so easy to replace.

Lol.... If it was to get KG or JO they should let him go in a heart beat.. but if it was not to get a allstar player.. let keep him and see what he can do

Well, we need a PG who can pass the ball well; good court awareness. If we have someone who can do a relatively simple pass to Kwame, than he might be able to catch the ball and dunk it, and we wont need a new post presence. Plus we wait and see what Chris Mihm can give us in the pre-season and see if Bynum gets any better, or more consistent.
It's not the bad passes that give Kwame issues, it's passes in general. He's got hands of stone. He's never been able to hold onto the ball overly effectively, so you can't pin that on the PGs.
True, but I can't help imagining Steve Nash dishing to Kwame in the post, and Kwame catching it cause its right at him. I'm not saying that we should try to acquire Steve Nash, cause that would be impossible, but someone who gets it directly to Kwame. But you're right. I've seen Kwame miss a catch thats thrown right into his chest.
Kwame can not catch the ball he has little hands!!!Jordan Farmar is a good player and young he seems to be going in the right direction .Lakers should keep him unless his the trade piece needed to bring JO or KG.
A Kidd or a Nash? Farmar? Are you kidding me? Do you know how many players are out there that are better than Farmar? Farmar is a player that comes around every draft, often times there are players of Jordan's caliber in the second round...and often times there are better players (Arenas, Monta). Jordan Farmar is nothing to rant and rave about. I swear...the first true PG that the Purple and Gold see in a long time and people think he's going to be a Kidd, Nash, Billups type of player. We've got a better shot at seeing Kobe drop 100 than Farmar mounting to anything more than a decent starting pg.
