The Spurs CHARACTER has been called into question. Character is one thing this team hangs its hat on. The team, player, and organizational character has been tarnished. In some ways, the character question is unwarranted. In some ways, it is warranted. At first it was whiney comments from Stoudemire. The media, always looking for a story, ran with the "Spurs are Dirty" angle. Then Bowen's knee......The media took that and blew it up.....then D'Antoni's whining.......then Horry sent Nash into the courtside table. The character assasination is in hyper-mode. And I don't see the team being okay with that. Call them boring, call them soft, call them robotic....they probably don't care. But question their character, the fiber of their being in a sense? I don't see the team allowing that without putting up a fight, and proving everyone wrong. I don't see Robert Horry, if this is his last season, allowing the foul against Nash to be the last image of him. I don't see Tim Duncan and Pop allowing the teams character to be dragged thru the gutter, without coming thru the other end victorious. So.....IMO that is something the Spurs will use for motivation, that little bit of extra incentive for the team. In '03 some extra motivation was to show '99 was not an asterick, and that we could get by the Lakers. In '05 it was to send D-Rob out a champion. In '07? "Don't Disrespect Our Character"
no their motivation is to win a ring. these guys arent gonna be defined by 1 series out of the tens they have played.
The Spurs are a chippy, physical team. What are you saying that they should play nice ball from now on?
and the suns aren't? you make it out to be like the suns are angels, just cause they have some aging white guy named steve nash. the spurs had to play harder cause of phoenix's physical play
