Exactly. Both players come with some baggage attached. Kenyon's very injury prone and doesn't really have the best attitude..and Artest..he has too much baggage. He's a very talented and capable guy whose defensive prowess would be welcomed on most teams, but his off the court troubles just taint his rep more and more. Unless you want to take a gamble, then I suggest looking elsewhere for a good swingman.

Iverson, Melo, and Artest. Are they trying to rename the team the Convicts? Although, I will admit...that'd be one scary trio if Artest could keep his head straight.

I actually think this is one of the better offers the Kings will get for Artest. His value is at an all time low, especially with his most recent problems. If Sacramento writers are buzzing about possibly trading Artest for Kwame Brown to clear up cap room sooner....or a S&T with the Lakers for Luke Walton...you know his value is disgustingly low.

the nuggets should do that deal in a second...Martin is injury prone and although Artest may be an occasional headcase he would add a defensive toughness to that team.....Denver would be scary if they pulled this off somehow....

Artest = your shutdown perimeter defender and can play in the paint also (on both ends)...that means more points in the paint and more rebounds
Camby/Nene = your big men who swat everything down low
    Melo/AI - your scorers

If they can get a shooter (like a Jerry Stackhouse) Denver would be set for '07/'08

Just being able to unload Kenyon Martin's toxic contract is a victory for Denver if they can swing this deal.

You can't really look at it in terms of, "what will Artest bring us?" you have to realize dumping KMart allows Denver to keep Marcus Camby.

Why would Sacramento want to take on his huge contract though? Plus, the guy can't stay healthy if his life depended on it. I would much rather just trade him for expiring contracts to help the rebuilding process

I have no idea why Sacramento would want KMart, I didn't start the rumor. I'm just looking at it from Denver's point of view. This would have to be a no-brainer for them.

We'd see the K-Mart connection if this trade went down, Kenyon and Kevin Martin.

I think it would be a good move for Denver, take a risk on Artest I say, that front court would be insane, Camby and Artest, 2 defensive player of the year winnners.

Anyway, I think this would be a great trade for Denver, even if Artest didn't work out, unloading KMart's contract is a bonus.

Artest isn't a very reliable player. I believe that Artest would run the Nuggets because he is prone to get in trouble with the law. Which means, he would miss games. Which means, Denver would lose some defense. Which means, they would more liable to lose.

Even if they got Artest, what would there line up be? Would Steve Blake come off the bench?

    Iverson
    Melo
    Artest
    Nene
    Camby

Each of those players is going to demand that they get their shots. I just dont know how that trade would work out...

I think that people underestimate what a negative impact Artest can have on an offense. He isn't a natural scorer, and while he;s improved, he still relies primarily on strength and athleticism, which can only take you so far... maybe it would work as long as George Karl prohibits him from chucking up threes.

If they could unload Kenyons contract, the Nuggets will take Artest.

Is there even any substance to this rumor? It seems a little far fetched for Sacremento to take on Kenyon's contract and give up one of their best players. I know Sac wants him gone but they dont want to hurt their own team by taking on a huge contract in the process.
