Well, do ya, punk? Do you think Jerry West can bring home the first or second pick in the NBA Draft Lottery?

If he does, the city will rejoice, the arena will fill to overflowing, and peace and prosperity will settle upon the land.

If he doesn't, the city will mourn, the arena will remain empty, and established, civic institutions like Raiford's will close ...

What's that? Raiford's just did close?

OK, there will be a drought, then.

Huh? We're in the midst of one of those, too?

Run for your lives, people! Or prepare to see Al Horford suit up for the Grizzlies, at the very least.

For a while, anyway. Until Horford quits basketball to become a Trappist Monk. This is Memphis, after all, where good luck is not necessarily our thing.

Memphis has heat waves and crime waves. Memphis has tornadoes and floods.

A manatee recently swam up the Mississippi to Memphis, where its luck ran out.

Oh, sure, there was a time when it was easy for some people to get lucky in Memphis. Then officials closed down Platinum Plus.

So now we are left to hope against hope. To hope against everything we have seen and known.

Memphis is a great, funky place to live. Memphis has a real style. But if Memphis had anything in the way of good luck, why would they call it the Home of the Blues? </div>

It's actually rare the team with the worst record gets the first pick in the draft. I do want Memphis to get the first pick though (I want Oden out West).

Like when the raps got the first pick, they didnt have the worst record. Personally i have a feeling the grill will get 3rd pick. boston first and atlanta 2nd.

IMO the Grizzlies got the worst of it out of all the teams in the lotto. Boston is getting a lot of sympathy but they still have tons of young talent, Pierce, etc. and are capable of making some big moves this offseason.

The Grizz have Pau wanting out, losing out on 3 great prospects, West possibly leaving, and although they do have a lot of young talent its not enough to get a really big deal done.

I don't understand what happend. Last year, they were in the playoffs, then this year they suck. I think they can get a ok PG at the 5th pick, I think thats what they have. Maybe Jeff Green or Acie Law IV
