<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When it comes to the NBA draft lottery, divine intervention can't hurt. In need of good luck, Timberwolves guard Randy Foye will take holy water to the NBA draft lottery Tuesday in Secaucus, N.J., as the team's official representative. Wolves front-office veteran Rob Babcock gave the holy water to Foye. Babcock said he procured it during the 2003-04 season, when the team made it to the Western Conference finals. That season, Babcock was scouting in France and stopped in Lourdes, a town made famous following a series of legendary Virgin Mary apparitions in 1858. Since then, people from around the world have made trips to the town for the holy water. "It's the real stuff," Babcock said Thursday. Considering the Wolves' bad luck in the lottery throughout the years, holy water might deliver just what the Wolves need: a miracle. Foye volunteered to represent the team. He will fly home today to Newark, N.J., after 10 days of workouts at the Target Center. With the lottery being held so close to his home, he said it made sense for him to represent the team there. If the Wolves win one of the top two picks, they would have a chance to draft Ohio State's Greg Oden or Texas' Kevin Durant, the draft's can't-miss prospects. "The only lottery I probably won was the lottery last year in the NBA draft, going so high," said Foye, last year's No. 7 pick. "Usually I'm not so lucky. I guess going to this end, some luck might come from somewhere, and I might get either the first pick or the second pick in the draft."</div> Source: TwinCities
