I think Wilcox would be a good add, but I don't think Artest would -- way too dangerous a gamble, IMO -- I mean, look at Sacramento -- blah! It must've felt awful to be a Sac fan last year -- Bibby possibly leaving, Mussleman getting fired, a poor showing down the stretch... I think Chemistry is the #1 think the Warriors have going, and they better be careful to preserve it!
I think we should look at what made us successful in the regular season and the playoffs and what we should do to improve our biggest weaknesses. What made us successful: Baron Davis chose the right time to get hot and other team members were feeding off him and everyone was playing tough zone defense. Can we get a second superstar to take the pressure off him on offense, though? Also, what would we have to do to get some size in there that can compete with all the top 10 power forwards/centers in the league? We just get outmuscled down the stretch when we don't win the size matchup or the speed matchup. The lack of a rebounding game totally messes up the speed matchup we could own. Also, we need some inside scorers who can attract a lot of defenders so we can kick out to open shooters. This way Baron Davis or Sjax doesn't have to take as many dribbles just to force defenses to collapse on them. They're like the only two that actually make scorers better (with Beans and Ellis and sometimes Jrich or Harrington making some nice passes). What makes the Jazz successful is they really have the complete game: inside and outside. It would also be nice if we could play more man-to-man D without worrying about being pushed off or outquicked.

Shawn Marion provides some of these characteristics, just not the inside-game, the passing game, or the interior defense you describe. He wouldn't be a bad consolation prize in the right deal. AlleyOop, I'd like to see the Warriors get Mike Bibby (though maybe not for what it's going to take to bring him here from Sacramento). What do you mean he is possibly leaving? Is he a free agent or is he acting to be traded? Also watching Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson on the same team could end up being a bit interesting. I am not talking about their history of exploding tempers, but raher their instincts to shoot a lot.

That's unsubstantiated, though. I just used it for effect I just think Artest is too big a gamble to risk destroying team chemistry. No way to I go after him, unless it's an Adonal Foyle swap!

KG can't handle it alone in the paint unless they give him some beef to protect him in the middle.

He can opt out next summer and join the free agent market. He'd have to leave $14.5M on the table, so it's highly unlikely, but Bibby can opt out a year early.
Did you hear Vince Carter wants $20 mils a year? He did have 25pts 6reb 5 ast, which is pretty damn impressive, but $20 a year, man that seems a lot for someone not 7 feet tall...
The Bibby Baron Davis backcourt would be pretty exciting, but defensively challenged. Vince Carter would be nice, but sometimes you gotta question his heart. I think he's still more exciting (and fundamentally sound as a SG) than Jrich, but Jrich got heart.
Vince would be a 3 in this offense, That would move Jackson to 4 in the small offense and off the bench in the case where we pick up a legit 5. The insider draft has Splitter still around when we draft.. I think CR2 and I have wanted Splitter to be a Warrior for a couple of years.
I had Chris Wilcox on my radar and there is a good chance that Seattle will make him available after the draft. Seattle had the good fortune to land the #2 pick and likely will pick Kevin Durant, a PF. They will probably re-sign Rashard Lewis to big bucks and they gave extensions to Nick Collison, another PF, and Luke Ridnour last season. Chris Wilcox makes a good amount, so if Kevin Durant can come in and make an impact, then likely Wilcox becomes available. Regardless, the Warriors have to free up some salary space to land him or make any other significant trade deals. A third team will be probably be needed. They also need to re-sign their own free agents. We need to get rid of Foyle and trade AL!!!
I almost kind of don't want Chris Wilcox because we could have gotten him in 2002 if we just traded down and avoided the Dunlousy pick. This should all be in the past and I should forget about it, but man...
