It was the first game 7 finals in a long time and went down to the final 4 minutes until you knew who was gonna win.
^^^that's true and I honestly tried to defend that series when others dogged it, but seriously man the NBA is just littered with a bunch of boring ass teams......
The Spurs are methodical in thier approach to the game, and are boring to the casual fan who perfers dunks and what not. I like exciting ball as well (obviously, because it's exciting) but I'm still amazed everytime I watch the Spurs, because of how efficiently they play. Of course, Bowen, Elson and to an extent, Ginobili frustrate and piss me off, but I love watching Duncan play. He's anything but boring in my opinion and is pretty much the definition of a winner and a great teammte. By far the most consistent and dominating player of our era (yes, including Shaq). Although I'll probably follow who wins the series' and what not, since all of the teams that I've wanted to win have all been eliminated, my attention towards the four remaining teams are waning. Out of the remaining four, I'm gunning for a Jazz/Cavs Finals (unlikely). Not only would there be fresh faces for the Finals (including Lebron turning into a legend....something I personally don't want to see), but it would be good for the NBA as well. However, since I am still pissed that the NBA decided to reward the Spurs for an incident that the SPURS instigated, I will hope for a Spurs/Pistons Finals (likely) and hope that nobody watches it, therefore making the ratings as low as imaginable. Yes, I like to see the NBA suffer for it's idiotic decisions. Although I don't like Bowen and Elson and Ginobili, I hate the Detriot Pistons even more. No, it's not because of their playing style; it's because of thier players. Therefore, I wouldn't mind the Spurs winning the title over them.

dam seriously its funny how people are never gonna shut the hell up about the suspensions. the spurs won 3 times when amare and diaw played and had big leads in two of those games. the suns won game four with amare and diaw although the spurs had it with 6 minutes to go. and nearly won game 5 without amare and diaw. funny how everybody questions game 5 and the suspensions, but if duncan wouldn't have gotten his 5th foul for breathing a breath of air on nash spurs would have won that game cause duncan would have been there to play defense. that falls into the same what if situation as these suspensions. get over it. it happens. nobody told the 2 suns players to jump off the bench. oh we were trying to attend to nash, yeah sure thats why you were running right? hello get it thru your head people they deserved to get suspended because of the rules. why should the exception be made? don't try to say duncan and bowen should have gotten suspended, because as stated by video evidence, there was no altercation. enough with the crying and complaining and what ifs. if you don't want to watch the rest of the playoffs, then don't. complaining on a message board and trying to degrade a teams success isnt gonna bring a team back to the playoffs. in the offseason the rule might or might not be changed for now just sit back and find something else to bitch at.
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">see this just isn't true, while the suns do prefer to speed it up I've seen them destroy plenty of teams in a half court set, and to be honest had it not been for the suspensions I think they'd be destroying some more teams on their way to a title...eveyone with a brain knows this series should be going to game 7 in Phoenix, and I honestly think the "run and gun style" would of beat out the "lets be boring basketball purists" style......the main point I was trying to make is that nothing is wrong with liking flashy play...some of the greatest to ever play the sport have been flashy...and flashy (although ridiculed, especially nowadays) has proven to be able to win numerous titles.</div> There is nothing wrong with being flashy, but the way people have treated Duncan is a bit insulting. Anyway, how can you be so sure the Suns would have won game seven? It is all speculation (but the Spurs have dominated the Suns with a similar cast prior to this series). Did you bitch about Wade when he got his FTs last year?
<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">^^well you're a jazz fan so it's understandable, but as a rockets/casual basketball fan I can't say that I'm really looking forward to this series...</div> Your just bittersweet that Utah beat the Rockets <div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I think the Spurs and Pistons are boring but the Jazz proved they can be exciting during that Golden State series..</div> The Jazz have always pushed the ball at home a lot, just no one has seen them enough to know that. At home, they're one of the toughest teams to beat. Memo seems to be insane at home, especially in the last few minutes. Deron Williams becomes Steve Nash it seems like. Then the bench is always reliable it feels like, and you don't lose hope when they bring in someone off the bench.
I don't know, I find the Spurs and Jazz just as interesting as the Suns, albeit in very different ways. I enjoy watching good defense just as much as good offense. And I like to see a team commit itself to post play and rebounding. Both teams do that exceptionally well and I'm really looking forward to the Duncan/Boozer matchup. I don't see how you don't find that subplot entertaining. In the end, I enjoy watching successful teams. We can all say that the Suns are so entertaining and are proof that run-and-gun teams are more enjoyable to watch. But, that's simply not true. There are plenty of lottery teams that play a similar style and among the most boring in the league. The same applies for halfcourt teams that emulate the Spurs. I enjoy watching teams that commit to a certain philosophy and really perform well. I think we can all agree that, regardless of their different styles, the common factor with the Spurs, Jazz, Suns, and any other contender, is that they execute their gameplan well.

I actually like the Spurs and Jazz, however not when they play each other, just because they are too similar. To me they are like measuring sticks that are fairly consistent and play their style. I like seeing a Suns/Spurs or Jazz/Warriors series more than a Spurs/Jazz or Suns/Warriors series. Just because its a clash of styles. I thought Rockets/Jazz was actually quite interesting as well.
i think the Spurs can be exciting. The media dont hype them up like they do others. Like if you watchin the ECF u only gonna hear bout how Lebron will perform in his 1st Conf Finals...but on the other side Duncan wont get as much attention even though he's an equal superstar...now yeah Bron is a more exciting player hands down...but we are also constantly fed LeBronmania. i think if the media hyped up these teams like they do others, our interest level may slightly rise. I think Parker/Ginobli are exciting 2 watch...esp whenn they turn good defense into a fast break...they are some of the quickest guards in the League.
