Ninth pick is alright and major props to the Blazers on nabbing the number one spot. They really deserve it because that franchise needs to get back into the spotlight in the Western Conference.
<div class="quote_poster">I-Miss-MJ Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">9th pick.</div> I'm happy that you got that pick! and according to some rumors Hibbert might pull out of this year's draft!
Do we really want to be developing another young player at this point and time? I think the Bulls are an established playoff team for years to come if they keep their core around. No doubt Paxon knows how to draft players, but I think we need to get an established post player. Trading this pick may help us get that along with someone else.
I saw a report that Hibbert is dropping out of the draft, I don't really want him anyways, I think he's too slow. I'm really interested in Hawes and Yi, but have good skills and size. Both can also shoot. Hawes has great skills, good moves. I'm interested in both.
All we need is a good post offensive player, who can shoot free throws at a above decent percentage. From what I've seen, Greg Oden would be an awesome pick, but eh, he probably won't be available by the time of the 23rd pick. Whoever we pick needs to play a good post offensive game, who can recover their misses sometimes.
<div class="quote_poster">taurus515th Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I know this is just like me 2 say it but isnt it kind of weird they talked about Tim Duncan and David Robinson all b4 the lottery took place and now its LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden lol. Conspiracy or wut lol. Also y is it over the past 10-12 years that 6'11 big men that the league says will change the league go 2 western conference teams they seem 2 get the #1 pick 2 get them lol.</div> Uhh, several of the last "big men" drafted high has gone to the East. Last year Bargiani, 2 years ago Andrew Bogut, 3 years ago Dwight and Emeka, 4 years ago it was Darko(we saw how that turned out so far though) and Bosh. The East has been getting some quality big men high in the draft the last couple of years.
I'm seeing trades for Amare, but that would be pretty stupid I think. Amare is still coming off Microfracture knee surgery. I know he had a stellar season, but I still thinks its risky to get him. In addition hes not a post player. Have you seen him play? Hes a finisher that thrives in Phoenix's system. He won't nearly do as well here especially without Nash. Also hes a lousy defender, extremely lousy. Also we can't get him and his contract when we have to resign Ben and Lu. As for the draft pick I have no idea who to grab. I'm for trading the pick for someone else. Not Randolph though. His defense is just as bad as Amares, and his contract is huge.
Getting Amare would be amazing, but I know that would never happen. I'm stilling saying we draft Yi or Spencer Hawes. I think Hawes has the best offensive game out of all the centers in the draft, he sure has better offensive skills then Oden right now. Not the dominance or defense that Oden has, not sure how much of a defensive player he is, have to check that out.
I hope the Bulls draft Yi if he's available. I understand he's not the post scorer the Bulls need, but he's Chinese, lol. I don't know, I think the Bulls can take the risk, he seems really skilled and would be fun to watch. In reality at our pick Jeff Green (another swingman? um); I know a lot of people want/expect Hawes, I'm not so sure. If we had a later midteen pick I would want McRoberts, I thought he would be a good fit for Chicago. NO Noah. Hibbert would have been good...trading the pick would be okay...
Collison is a nice player 4 us. It be nice 2 have a 20/10 player like Randolph but if its not possible Collison is a guy we could use. We just need a post-player that can pass out of double teams and b reliable when needed and we are straight.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[quoteright] <font size=""2"">Sure, the Bulls won't have an opportunity to select Greg Oden or Kevin Durant on draft night. The 23rd annual edition of the NBA Draft Lottery determined the order of selection for the first 14 picks of the 2007 NBA Draft. EVP-Business Operations Steve Schanwald represented Chicago, which received the right to swap picks this summer with New York on Oct. 4, 2005 as part of a five-player trade that sent Eddy Curry to the Knicks. "In this draft, it is a very good pick," Bulls EVP-Basketball Operations John Paxson told members of the media on Monday. "We'll have to determine if there's a player who can come in right away and play for us. Or, if I choose to be really aggressive, look to move that pick for a player on [another] roster right now who can play for us. That will be an option I'll certainly explore." Based on New York finishing with the ninth-worst record in the league last season, Chicago had a chance to win the Lottery or land in the top three picks despite making the postseason and advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.</div> Read More...
Awesome, we have 9th pick. Greg Oden is going to be hot, same with Durant. However, we will manage with what we get.
From the article on espn, here is the part re: Yi <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Yi Jianlian games have begun. Yi is foregoing the physical-only portion of the camp -- the first time I remember seeing that move by a player. Yi is not injured and he's not in China. He's pulling out to maintain control of the process. Both his agent, Dan Fegan, and the Chinese government want to make sure Yi lands on the "right" team. So Yi will work out for only a few select teams. Yi's Orlando maneuver means that the other teams in the league won't even have the results of a physical to look at, which might further discourage them from draft Yi. Don't be shocked if Golden State or Chicago finds a way to move up and grab Yi. They seem to be the two "approved" teams most interested. </div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2007/index
Didn't the Chinese government demand money from Yao or something when he came into the league? Or was it something of that sort.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Chicago We?ve been told by numerous team sources that if still on the board, Joakim Noah doesn?t slip past this pick. Bulls would be a good team to draft one of my Gators. I wouldn't be mad to have to root for the Bulls.
Noah would be great for the Bulls. He is ready, and him and Thomas will be the most energetic pair in the league. I just hope Noah can develop a jump shot and his defense is alright, but it should get better under Skiles.

So opponents will continue to clog the lane with bodies and try and force us into settling for jumpers.
