Basically, just hand out your picks for the best preformers in the playoffs thus far. MVP- Tim Duncan has been a beast all playoffs long. My honourable mention goes to Carlos Boozer. Biggest Surprise- Sasha Pavlovic has done phenomenal especially against the Nets. Yet another weapon at Lebron's disposal. Best performance- Baron Davis proves why he is top 5 in the league when he's healthy. Worst performance- Dirk Nowitzki proves why he shouldn't have been MVP Best rookie- Paul Millsap is a beast. Best Flopper- Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili combine their European-bred wussiness and Spurs-bred cheapness to take this one. Best Coach- As boring as the Cavs are to watch, Mike Brown can get his guys to play defense and knows how to draw up plays. 6th man award- Ginobili makes a strong case for himself, but it turns out that David Stern and Stu Jackson tie for this award as they were the deciding factors in leading the Spurs to victory.
MVP- Deron Williams, the kid has been amazing all year, and has taken it to a whole other level since th eplayoffs started. He did a good job of slowing down Baron Davis when they played the Warriors, and has averaged 19-8 so far during the playoffs. Biggest Surprise- Derek Fisher, the man has played through personal and physical problems and has simple amazing. The man is an inspiration and a great role model for any young person. Best performance- Baron Davis, as already noted he revived his career this year, hopefully he can avoid injury and keep it up next season. Worst performance- Shaquille O'Neal, I love Shaq, but to say quote "no one wants to play us in a seven game series" then come out and average under 20 points a game, and have your team swept away is sad. Best rookie- Tyrus Thomas, anyone who watched his performance against the Pistons during game four and five, as well as several moment shifting plays he had during the Heat series, knows why he has been the most valuable rookie of the playoffs thus far. Best Coach- Jerry Sloan 6th man award- Manu by default (no other stand out 6th men in the playoffs).
MVP - Tim Duncan : He's just been so consistently dominant in the entire playoffs. I really don't see any other player that is their team's anchor on offense and defense. Most Surprising Performance - Baron Davis : It just seemed like he brought together all of his talent and skill to be a force in the playoffs. It kind of reminded me of that one season he had with the Hornets, where he was garnering MVP consideration. Most Disappointing Performance - Vince Carter : Unlike Dirk, who was faced with an excellent coaching strategy, or Shaq, who's just aging, Vince really didn't have any excuses for playing so poorly in the playoffs. Its his contract year, Jason Kidd was playing phenominal, and it seemed like everything was set in place for him to dominate. But, aside from a couple games against Toronto, he failed to step up when his team needed him. Best Rookie - Paul Millsap : Millsap is just a terrific rebounder. He's Utah's second best interior defender and has been valuable by filling in for Boozer at times. There really weren't too many rookies to provide competition though. Tyrus Thomas was an energy player off the bench, but a lot of his minutes and points came when the game was out of reach. Andrea Bargnani played great in the final 2 games of the first round but was rusty and inconsistent early on. Best Coach - Don Nelson : His defensive gameplans and dismantling of Avery Johnson was the story of that first round upset of the Mavericks. Nelson did a great job of gaining the players' trust and really getting the best out of a team that lacked an inside presence. 6th Man - Manu Ginobli : Manu's really been the most important bench player in the playoffs. The one who actually won the award struggled against the Spurs.
MVP - Tim Duncan of course, with honorable mention to Manu. Most Surprising Performance - Stephen Jackson - Baron Davis isn't the only one who brought swagger to GS Most Disappointing Performance - Kobe Bryant. Yes, he's surrounded by garbage, but he's KOBE! KOBE! KOBE!.... we expect miracles from him, and he didn't really give us any. Best Rookie - the Utah rookies Dee Brown and Millsap Best Coach - Jerry Sloan. to have his guys handle T-Mac and Yao, then the run and gun Warriors was great. Although Boozer has a lot of credit for that also. 6th Man - NOT Manu . Manu is a star, he's never been what a 6th man is all about. just cause he TECHNICALLY comes off the bench. The 6th man to me is clearly Derek Fisher. It's hard not to like your chances with a mature leader like that on the floor.
Baron is a top 5 player when healthy? Did you forget about Kobe, Wade, LeBron, Garnett, Duncan, McGrady? At full strength, I'd put Baron with Pierce, Arenas, Dwight Howard, etc... MVP - Tim Duncan: Dominant on both offense and defense, enough needed. Most Surprising Performance - Utah Jazz: I don't know if anybody expected them to perform this well, but they sure as hell surprised me. They won almost every single close game. That's clutch. Most Disappointing Performance - Lamar Odom: After how he dominated Shawn Marion last year in the playoffs, I thought for sure he would dominate this year...I was wrong. Best Rookie - Paul Millsap: Been underrated all season long. He compliments Boozer extremely well and it has shown in the playoffs. Best Coach - Jerry Sloan: He always finds a way to win it seems like. He's coaching America's team right now, he beat Don Nelson, I don't see how it is not him. 6th Man - Manu Ginobili: Manu was key in the last game against the Suns, he's such a spark plug and a starter on most, if not every, other team in the league.
MVP - LeBron James: This guy has done it all for the Cavs, points, rebounds, and assits. Who would have thought that the Cavs would be in the conference finals this year. Its all thanks to the King. Most Surprising Performance - Deron Willams/ Derek Fisher; I found these two the most suprising, as Willams is growing in the playoffs and Fisher showing why he won 3 championships. Most Disappointing Performance - Vince Carter. Just horrible...no need to explain Best Rookie - Paul Millsap : This guy is a beast. He could have been in my suprise spot, if there were no rookie spot. Best Coach - Don Nelson : Warriors beat the Mavs and got into the 2nd round. That says it all right there. 6th Man - Manu- Manu has been the fuel to San Antonio, when he scores +20, they always seem to win.

MVP - Rip Hamiltion: I think he has done so much for the Pistons. He comes out everynight, and consistently shoots a high percentage, and you can always count on him for a big perfromance. Most Surprising Performance - Jose Calderon: Even though the Raptors lost in the first round, I think Calderon really showed why he can start almost anywhere. When Ford when down he came out with a 25 point, 8 assist game to keep the raps alive. He is really coming into his own, and I expect big things from him. Most Disappointing Performance - Dirk : Nough Said, No pun intended. Best Rookie - Paul Millsap : What a steal for the Jazz, this guy is a hard working player, and I always expect him to go after rebounds. Would of been Andrea, but his not showing up till the end, really lost him my vote. Best Coach - Don Nelson : He exploited Avery in the first round. He showed that one lin-up change, can confuse a coach. He was definitly amazing. 6th Man - Manu Ginobli : Just Manu being Manu...

MVP: Tim Duncan...this should be unanimous. Anyone who has seen the way Duncan has dominated the post-season so far knows that Duncan is clearly the MOST DOMINANT player in thie league (yes, that's a shot at Shaq). At 31, he's still going strong, and as long as he's healthy, the Spurs are going to be in contention to win the 'ship every year. Biggest Surprise: I would say the Warriors beating the Mavs. I knew the Warriors had the Mavs' number, but I didn't know they had a psychological hold on them! Also, I would say Deron Williams has surprised me. I always had a good feeling about the kid since his rookie year, but I didn't think he'd blow up like that. I'm also digging the Jazz's bright blue away jerseys. Yes, I had not seen a Jazz game in some time prior to these playoffs. Biggest Disappointment: Vince Carter/Lakers/Mavericks Vince Carter deserves a paragraph on his own to explain just how ****** he played, but I don't wanna waste my time on him. The Lakers, yeah I knew they were going to lose this (I even predicted in 5), but I don't know, I expected more fight out of them. They aboslutely got man-handled. They need to change thier roster quick and fast; next year they'll be lucky to get into the playoffs with thier current players. The Mavericks...for being 2006 Western conference champions, they sure did have a quick exit. Ditto for the Heat. Well, I expected the Heat to lose anyway, I just didn't expect the Mavs to lose. I feel sorry for Dirk, but I will be the first one to say it, Dallas is going to DEFINETLY come back with a vengeance next year. I see them taking the West or making the WCF. Hopefully they slay the Spurs along the way. Best Rookie: I can't really say anything about Millisap because to be honest, I haven't watched that many Utah games. Therefore, I'm going to go with Bargnani. I love that kid, he's going to be a star soon. Best Coach: Greg Popovich. I don't think I need to explain. 6th Man: Manu Ginobili (would have been Barbosa until the Spurs shut him down). Ginobili is not really a 6th man, but I guess he should win this.
