<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Within hours after the draft, phones in the downtown offices started ringing, and Durant-mania began to take root. "We sold over 40 full-season tickets and we've taken another 20 orders on mini-packages, and that's within the first 90 minutes after the announcement," said Brian Byrnes, vice president of sales and marketing. "That's a very good start. We expect to have a terrific day [today]." The Sonics launched an ad campaign Tuesday night called "Be Part of It." It doesn't mention Durant but alludes to his future with the team.</div> http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/spor...388_soni23.html
I was shivering when I saw that Boston was in the fifth spot. This is literally the best moment for this franchise since I have been a fan and I'm estactic that we have the easiest pick in the history of the NBA. That being said I am really worried about how this is going to effect Sweet Lew's free agency. Neither him or Durant are power forwards and as much as I look forward to them playing together I do feel as if we are going to have significant match up problems on the other end. With that line up we are almost going to have to play exclusively zone--but it is going to be a bitch for other teams to match up with us. Nonetheless it makes us the most intriguing team in the league next year and in my mind automatically catapults us into a playoff birth. Now all we need is a starting point guard.
Wow, he's so young, he's younger than me by a whole year (in age) but a freshman? I hope we do pick him.
