I'm not aware how serious the situation is, or what exactly is happening at this moment. Apparently someone wrote this on of the school desks, "If you think Virginia Tech was bad, wait till the last day of school". Now there is a whole investigation, where the police are trying to determine who did it. I doubt anything will happen, and I'm sure the person responsible was just "joking" around, but that's still pretty sick. Things like this just amaze me sometimes...
Big whoop. I doubt anything's going to happen. We recieved like 50 different threats at our school the week of the Virginia Tech shooting, nothing happened.
Like I said, I don't expect anything to happen, but it's just interesting to see how retarded some kids can be.
<div class="quote_poster">Legacy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Lol, that's kinda scary if you think about it. </div> LOL? You're pathetic. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Big whoop</div> Read above. I can't believe how ignorant you people are. I hope everything works out and no people are hurt in any way, shape, or form.
Some of you guys are straight ignorant (not you Kidd). School shootings are realistic, it isn't some video game *********. They happen. You're going to joke about it? Pick up a damn newspaper and read the stories of the victims of these tragic events. Say big whoop then. Laugh at it then. You guys are the joke.
That's some scary sh*t man. Even if the dude's joking, he's got to have serious issues to think that's funny.
What's so funny Legacy? A freshman at my school had a hitlist that had a ton of of upperclassmen on it. He had the word VICTIMS written in red ink at the top and he was eventually expelled because a teacher saw the list and reported him to the office. Just shows how crazy some kids can be. One thing happens (for example, the kid claimed one upperclassmen pushed him against a locker) and they flip out and do something crazy. Just makes me wonder what their home life is like because I don't believe anyone is just born like that, something had to happen when they were being raised to make them act that way. Nurture > Nature
Don't blame it on their home life. Usually something is wrong with people with a short temper. Studies have shown that a good number of serial killers, rapists, child molesters, and mass murderers have a problem in their brain. These studies have shown that when the limbic system generates aggressive urges by releasing the chemical vasopressin into the brain, the prefrontal cortex is supposed to control these aggressive urges using the chemical serotonin to combat them. Studies have shown that in a good number of serial offenders and mass murderers, the persons prefrontal cortex is usually flawed. It is usually inable to produce serotonin to hold back the aggressive urges created by the limbic system in the back of the brain. I'm not defending any actions of any of these psychos out there, but some people are born with malfunctions that contribute to their aggressive actions. Does personal life play a part in it? Hell yeah, but I personally don't like when people use that as an excuse. Some people will never change, no matter how hard we try to change them. Did you get all that?

I didn't know any of that. It's crazy to think that certain people just can't hold back their aggression no matter how hard they try. I always thought that if a child was treated poorly while they were being raised, maybe that affected their brain but that's very interesting. I think it's scary that any person could be born with that brain flaw though. Like, imagine having a child and finding out he has a problem with his or her prefrontal cortex. That would be really sad to know that you couldn't change them, even if you were the best parent in the world.
It's not all just the brain though. Family life does influence one's behavior a lot. If you grow up in a family where daddy beats mommy, chances are you're going to think it's ok and you're going to end up abusing women, too. There are so many factors to include in studying these people. Brain deformations, family life, personal life, habits, etc. I just want an explanation from Briand and Legacy. What is so funny about this that you thought it was necessary to make a joke? Ross Abdallah Alameddine Christopher James Bishop Brian Bluhm Ryan Clark Austin Cloyd Jocelyne Couture-Nowak Daniel Perez Cueva Kevin Granata Matthew Gwaltney Caitlin Hammaren Jeremy Herbstritt Rachael Hill Emily Jane Hilscher Jarrett Lane Matthew La Porte Henry Lee Henry Lee (A Holocaust survivor) G.V. Loganathan Partahi Lombantoruan Lauren McCain Daniel O'Neil Juan Ortiz Minal Panchal Erin Peterson Michael Pohle Julia Pryde Mary Read Reema Samaha Waleed Shaalan Leslie Sherman Maxine Turner Nicole White These are the victims of the VA Tech shooting. Do you think their families would find these threats funny? It's this simple. If you're incapable of having and maintaining a mature conversation because all you post are jokes, then don't post in a mature thread.
i think we all need to calm down, brian was correct in saying that it is probably bogus, he didnt laugh at the victims from the VA tech shooting, he just pointed out that there is a new "trend" of these kind of things made by stupid fat nerd kids who sit at there computers all day posting comments on youtube and jacking off. these fat sweaty losers think it is funny to make fake death threats and kill lists and **** like that, it isnt funny at all that it happens but it has been happening increasingly since VA tech. that is all brian was trying to point out, that this is most likely the case. its also very interesting to see the kind of people that are these killers, and they usually have no social lives, which is extremely bad for your mental state, the human species needs interaction with fellow humans, when this does not happen and a person feels as if they are being alienated by the entire human race they only need one small incident to set them off and make them want to "take revenge" on all those people that "alienated" them. they hate everyone because they beleive everyone hates them, and beleiving everyone hates you is a sign of an unstable, un healthy mental state. i beleive everything is related socially and you cant just say that certain chemicals inside the brain cause people to be overly aggresive or whatever it was. socially healthy people may have some inbalance in the chemicals in brain but because they have healthy social interaction they dont expirience any hatred towards the human race. although there are some cases in which mamba was refering to, when the killer or criminal is mentaly unstabe or insane or something, and this derictly causes them to want to harm people, but i still think it all revolves around your social health.

If someone is antisocial and lacking friends and people who care about them, this could be the thing that sets off their aggression. For most people, if you were feeling upset or frustrated, you just need time to get over it and to calm yourself down. But if these people can't control their aggression, the slightest thing like having no friends or being picked on in school could make them want to hurt people to get revenge like you were saying. The kid who made the hit list for example was a freshman who was very quiet and nobody talked too. While most people would have just tried to make friends, he may not have been able to handle the situation and something in his brain told him to act the way he did. I don't think being socially unhealthy is enough of a reason for someone to hurt others, I think it has to be combined with something else like the brain flaw for example. Many people deal with being socially unhealthy when you move to a new school and stuff and those people react fine. It's the people whose brains can't handle that type of situation that "get revenge" on the people that weren't friends with them. Mamba, I agree that a lot of different things make a person the way they are. I think social life, how you were brought up, chemical balances in your body, and possibly being bullied at a young age could all make someone want to hurt someone else. I can honestly say that I could pick out the kids in my school who I would be worried about if a threat like this were made. They are the ones who are always drawing creepy stuff, sitting by themselves (this goes back to what AKIRA was saying), and basically hating everyone. I try to be nice to everyone because I would hate to feel like I was left out socially but they are treated like **** by so many people they just hate going to school it seems like. If any of them had brain flaws or a bad childhood, that could possibly make for some problems.

Most problems mentally are indeed caused by (non-psychological terms here) "disorders in the brain." Usually these come from self-caused issues such as extended seclusion from public, personal let-down based on physical appearance or other, etc. The list can go on and on actually. As for that bit that was put on the board that's not funny and someone who thinks that it is has a poor perception of reality.
We had a lockdown at my school today. But it was just a random drug search. They found stuff though. There were like 10 K-9 units there and 13 cop cars. Honestly, why would anyone store their drugs in their lockers?
Yeah we've had random drug searches and my school and a ton of the druggies were panicking and stuff. They went into each classroom and sniffed backpacks, walked down the hallway sniffing lockers, and checked random cars in the parking lot. They didn't find anything but one kid just barely got away because he took his weed out of his backpack and then flushed it down the toilet before the dogs got to his classroom. And Sasha is right, tons of people sell in the bathrooms and parking lot at my school. There have also been a ton of people who light up at school and see if they can get away with it. I remember even in middle school people were smoking weed in the bathrooms because smoke would pour into the hallway.
