Looks like Yao is getting serious to learn from the great Hakeem Olajuwon. Instead of resting like most NBA players whose teams are out of the playoffs, Yao went back to training right away to improve his skills, footwork and proper positioning. I hope this would help him tremendously. At of all the mistakes JVG made, his biggest was rejecting Hakeem to work with Yao. Nothin against Ewing, but Yao can learn so much more from Hakeem. Spin move, jump hook, fadeaway ect.......It's beautiful to see them share the same court. Plus Hakeem's right about Yao just adding a few tweaks to his game to be dominant.
This could be big, and I mean championship big. I've always viewed Hakeem as the most underrated player of his generation, and there's nobody better to learn post moved from. Could you imagine a guy at Yao's size working those hook shots? Also, geez, Hakeem looks like he's kept himself in good shape. Think he could come off the bench and swat a few shots?

I don't know about anyone else but it was eerie watching that video. I was just thinking like "man Hakeem's showing him all the right things...if Yao can get it down pat and make that his game and be comfortable doing it? pure dominance" he's just so tall...all Hakeem's moves are made even better by the fact Yao's 7'6.
If Yao Ming could perfect his low-post game like Olajuwon and learn some of that Dream Shake, Yao's going to be unstoppable next season, literally. You're going to need someone to injure him to stop him.

It's great to see Yao is already out there focusing on improving his game, and Hakeem is the perfect mentor for him. He'll teach Yao how to move his feet in the post on both ends of the court.

"When you dominate the game, anyone can coach." Hakeem Olajuwan said that during the interview after practicing with Yao. Hmm, was that a shot at Rudy T? I know it wasn't, but I've always felt that anyone could have coached the 94/95 Rockets' teams and they still would have won the whole shebang.
