    The question is this:

    A) Try to keep KG and make a formidable team now?

Package the pick and guards (Jaric comes to mind) to Memphis for Gasol (http://www.hoopshype.com/players/pau_gasol.htm) and other players. Gasol is a vet who has shown can contribute solid numbers. Something to this effect to get him help now. Not just players who had contract years last year. People who are consistent.

[IMG] Do you look to the future and admit failure?

Trade KG for another 1st rounder? Do you think we can possibly get Brendan Wright who may drop to us and is slated to be a proficient post presence? Pioneer Press printed article that had Taylor trying to buy Suns 1st rounder, but that may be when he thought they would get an early pick. I heard the Suns are looking at financial issues and may want to give up something.

The worst case scenario played out for the TWolves last night. Not only did they fail to move up in the draft, the top two lottery teams are in the same division as the TWolves.

The TWolves are probably looking at finishing in last place for the next 5 years unless they make a serious push to win with KG, or they blow it all up and start rebuilding to try and keep up with Portland, Seattle, Denver, and Utah.

Portland has the makings for a dynasty with Oden, Aldridge, and Roy. Seattle has new life with Durant joining Ray Allen, and Sweet Lew if they can re-sign him. Even if they can't keep Lewis, they'll get something of quality back in a sign and trade for him.

Denver has the Melo and Iverson duo, and Utah has a bright future with their core of Deron, Boozer, AK47 and Okur.

At the end of the day I think Glen Taylor is going to look at his payroll and ask himself, why am I paying the luxury tax for a last place team who is going to miss the post season for the 4th straight year.

I think the TWolves need to at least put KG on the market place to see what his value is at. If a deal makes sense for the franchise to pull the trigger on then you make the deal, if not then you cross your fingers and hope some of these players you've acquired the past couple of seasons start panning out.

Consensus seems like, we'd probably get Conley (doubtful), Hibbert (staying in school), or Brendan Wright (has potential but no intensity). Jianlian has offensive skill, but with current roster, we can't wait for him to get used to the NBA game. From the descriptions of the players on Hoopshype (I haven't really followed college ball), Noah and Horford look like a good fit. Of course, we'd like to get rid of some of these guards that we currently have, but right now I'm commenting on what we have.

The problem with trading for help now is that we already owe two first rounders to the celtics and clippers. I dont want to see another stretch of years without a pick like after the Joe Smith situation. I say we try to go young, and unload all of our current roster basically. If we get a good offer for KG, I say take it. As much as I would love to keep him, it would be so much sweeter to see him play with a legitimate all-star caliber player at least once in his career.

yeah, i agree we should start to rebuild from this point. we can all see this isn't working with mchale not getting KG any real help. if we draft well and try to sign good free agents as well as trade KG then i think that whould be better.
