Now that we have Durant, how about we do something about the Point

Looking at the Western Conference playoff teams and we?re overmatched every night: Steve Nash, Baron Davis, Tony Parker, Deron Williams, Jason Terry. I think it?s fair to say Ridnour is about as good as he?s going to get and I still get nervous when ?Trials and Tribulations? has the ball in his hands.

How about we trade Ray Allen, Ridnour and/or Petro to one of the lottery teams and pick up Mike Conley Jr and something else. To be honest I didn?t see him as being a top notch talent but after reading some scouting reports supposedly he?s a special player and you have to consider he?s played with Oden his whole career so his stats aren?t mind blowing.

Supposedly he's very quick and fast and is mature beyond his years, especially for a point guard.

If we are going to bring in a point guard I would rather bring in an established NBA point than role the dice on a rookie. Jamaal Tinsley or Mike Bibby would look much better in a Sonics uniform than Mike Conley Jr. or Acie Law.

What do you think of these trade scenarios:

Luke Ridnour and #35 pick for Jamaal Tinsley
Earl Watson, Damien Wilkins, and #35 pick for Mike Bibby

Hell yes to both. Bibby's not my favorite guy as he's a shoot 1st PG but we need an upgrade desperately.

I would really like to get rid of Luke, though.

Tinsley sucks, I don't know why you're still creaming over him. I like Bibby, but he's declining and he can't pass. Luke will get one more year most likely, and if he doesn't improve the Sonics will look to the next draft. The only point worth trading up for this year is Conley, but he'd have to drop to the mid-20s because the Sonics don't have anybody they could use to trade up higher.

You want to trade an All-star, a solid PG and Petro for a 3rd pick PG? You're giving up way too much.

Unless Atlanta gives you Joe Johnson and the 3rd pick back that'd be the worst deal ever.

Well I actually didn't mean trade all 3, just some combination of. Although I'd do that trade you mention in a heartbeat [IMG]

Apparently Jason Terry is being shopped by Dallas - I say bring him back home for Petro and Ridnour. I have a feeling Dallas is looking for a pass first PG who can play off of Dirk, plus they get a young 7 footer.

Thoughts on Jason Terry - he's not an elite point guard who can penetrate and dish and create for others but he can hold his own against the Western Conference elite well enough.

Seattle needs a PG who will give Durant the ball, and establish a good relationship with him. Bibby isn't that guy. You need a young guy like Law or Jeff Green or Conloy, who will grow with Durant to become an eilite 1-2 punch wherever they go.

I've had this question for a long time. Why don't you guys like Ridnour, what's wrong with him?

That is a question scientists have been asking since he's been in the league. I just don't like him as a player. He seems to no-shalont, and lack a daisy out there.

How, pray tell, do we get Acie Law, Jeff Green, or Mike Conley AND Kevin Durant? Impossible. Plus i'd rather have a vet running the point and get a youngster in the 2nd round.

And the reason we "don't like" Luke Ridnour is that he hasn't developed into the lottery pick that he was supposed to be. He is way too inconsistent, he has flashes of brilliance but moreso has subpar nonexistant games. He's a decent point guard but not really a solidified starter.

You can get Law, if you trade for another 1st rounder. Or after the draft. But Seattle does need a PG to complament Durant, or it mught be hard times in Seattle.

I would have said any Terry deal would involve Rashard in a sign and trade, so how about looking at Devin Harris?

New head coach Gary Payton! The first coach to get tossed out of every single game for an entire season.

what does everybody think about javaris critenton. 6'5" and reports say he's got good passing skills. if we keep rashard, and draft kd, along with ray that's a potent offense. a big guard that can get the ball to any of the 3 would probably be pretty beneficial. only downside is he is a rookie point guard and a vet would probably be better. i like luke but his confidence seems pretty shaken

Javaris Critenton is going to be a stud in the NBA. The Hawks are targeting him with their #11 pick.

Wasn't Atlanta interested in Ridnour at one point? He would be the right fit there with their run and gun style. Atlanta could also benefit from one of Seattle's big man projects.
