The club soon is expected to announce that he will be offered a position with the organization. Hill's job situation had been in doubt for the past two and a half weeks. During the season, Hill was questioned for the team's style of offense and his lack of use of young players. No word on who canadiates are to replace Hill but prehaps the top experienced canadiate in Rick Adelman is already off the market. </div> http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...ach_in_orlando/ WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW! Let's get ourselves a good coach now!
YES! I just jumped out of my seat and hugged my brother. I'm so excited. We don't have to put up with him for another year! I'm so happy right now. I'm really looking forward to the process of finding a new coach and I'm hoping Dwight has some say in the situation. He apparently feuded with Brian Hill so hopefully we can find someone that can help Dwight reach his full potential! I'm so happy! This seriously just made my day. Ah, what an amazing way to start off my summer.
YES!!!!!!!!!! wow this is a great day in history. over the hill twice. Now lets get to business..who r we going after?
Hopefully the new coach uses Darko on the perimeter and maybe we can actually play some inside out basketball... We have J.J. for a reason...
God, I'm so freaking happy. I logged on just to post this. I hope we get someone who can utilize J.J.'s range, Dwight's dominance, and Darko's finesse.

And I've heard the Coach K rumors but I'm not sure how valid they are. One thing is for sure, this next month sure will be interesting!
Here is an Orlando Sentinel article about why he was fired. It's pretty much what we've been preaching all year. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Philosophical differences with General Manager Otis Smith led to Brian Hill's dismissal as the head coach of the Orlando Magic, Smith said today. Speaking with the news media at the team's headquarters at RDV Sportsplex, Smith said he made the decision to remove Hill because he felt the team underachieved in 2006-07 and needed a new direction to reach its goal of "winning an NBA championship." In the second year of his second stint with the team, Hill directed the Magic to a 40-42 record and made the playoffs as the No. 8 seed for the first time since 2003. But Orlando was swept in four games by the Detroit Pistons in the first round. "Brian has done some good things to prepare us as far as instilling discipline and structure, but now we need to take the next step and I thought it was time (for a change)," Smith said." He said wrestled with the idea of ending Hill's tenure after only two years for several weeks before concluding that a change was needed. "Stability and continuity are good if it's the right person," Smith said. "But if it's not the right person, you can continue just to repeat yourself. . . . "We should have been a better-executing ball team." Smith said he has no timetable for naming a successor but "I have a list" of candidates. He would not disclose names but said the next coach of the Magic will need to be able to develop young talent such as Dwight Howard, Trevor Ariza, Jameer Nelson, Darko Milicic and J.J. Redick and play a style that fits their skills. "It just has to be the right guy, the right fit," Smith said. "That is going to require some sit-down, one-on-one time (with candidates.) . . . "It's attractive enough to get the attention of coaches." Smith said he had several conversations with Hill since the end of the season before determining a change was necessary. Changes to "the offense and the lack of adjustments (in games and with personnel") were "discussion points," he said. Hill, who had two years remaining on his contract, has been offered a position in the organization. The team's current assistants remain under contract at this time.</div> Source: Orlando Sentinel
It won't matter what coach we have because ideally the Magic need another All Star to play along with Dwight. Granted, other coaches such as Gundy could probably get us a couple more W's, but the Magic really won't get anywhere until Grant Hill leaves & Orlando gets another decent player to go along with Dwight.
