With the Portland Trail Blazers getting first pick at the Draft they will be looking to trade Zach Randolph. I think it would be cool to see him in a LA uniform plus his young and had a great season. Is he what Lakers are looking for? Link http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Po...t?urn=nba,34100
I think he could be a valuable asset to you guys. He's a legit 20 and 10 banger. Randolph + Bynum would be a really big combination down low, and could cause some match up problems just because they're so big. Frankly, I'd be willing to let Randolph just for an expiring contract, but I seriously doubt that will happen. Who are you guys willing to let go in order to acquire ZBo, if anyone for that matter? As far as I know, Randolph is going to make 12 million, and I think Odom will be making similar money. But as the Lakers GM, there is no way I'd make that deal straight up, even if it was possible.
Kwame Brown is our biggest expiring contract. I don't know if Portland wants anything to do with him, though. Although a front court with Kwame off the bench and Oden starting is pretty deadly defensively. Kwame and Brian Cook? I doubt it. There are some rumors swirling that Washington is pushing for Randolph. They're supposedly involved in a three team trade. Randolph would go to Washington and Jamison to Portland. The article didnt' say who the third team was or what other chips would be involved.
Maybe Portland could resign Magloire, and ship him out to the Lakers for Odom+Kwame. LA would get Magloire + Randolph and Portland would get Odom+expiring contract. As far as LA, you're front-court would be solidified. And then you guys could focus on finding a good point. Odom is more or less Rashard with less of a shot, but more rebounding and play making skills. I think the only interest Portland would have in Kwame though is the number of years left on his contract.
I don't know if L.A. would do that, though. If they could lure Jermaine O'neal with Odom + Bynum, then I think they'd go for that. They've got a good shot at signing Maagloire if they pursue him. Personally, I think it's a decent trade but if we could lure more with a combo of Bynum and Odom, I'd aim at that first.

Obviously Jermaine is a much better player, especially defensively. However, statistically speaking, ZBo is no pushover. This way, you guys get Randolph and Magloire, and you even get to keep Bynum. Personally speaking, I wouldn't want Randolph on my team, but it really comes down to it, how much does Bynum mean to you guys? This way, you get Kobe some help, but you're still not throwing away the future with Bynum. In your position, I would rather do the trade with Portland, rather than trade Bynum who has a huge amount of potential.
Randolph and the triangle? I don't think it'd work. Jermaine brings us immediate defensive help. I think in a deal with Portland, L.A. would really push for Jarret Jack, which I doubt you guys would let go. Bynum's got great potential, but L.A.'s always been about winning. Whatever gets us winning now is going to make the media, fans, and the organization happy. Kobe Bryant has poured his heart and soul into the organization. He re-signed with the Lakers with a promise that he'd get the players around him to make the team a contender. Zbo definitely helps that, but not as much as a Garnett, Jermaine, or Gasol does.
<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I think in a deal with Portland, L.A. would really push for Jarret Jack, which I doubt you guys would let go.</div>Well I think they might, because they have a guy named Sergio or something that I've heard is at least decent, as well they are going for Conley, Oden's teammate pg. Portland might not feel the need to keep all 3.

Obviously JO is the better player. But Randolph is a top 10 PF imo, and he's only 26, so he's still 2 years younger than JO. I actually don't really think the trade is too hot for Portland. And I'd rather have RJ or Shard than Odom. But from the Lakers POV I think it's a pretty good trade off.
I dont think he'll do any good in LA only get in trouble with the law. But we do need a PF wo can play ball.
randolph sucks, we couldnt get anywhere with the guy, we need a veteran leader who has expierinced what it is to win and is hungry for more, JO is closde to this, randolph is a trigger happy punk who is fat and ugly and will never win in his life because all he cares about is looking good on the court and scoring alot.

If we can't get none of those players i think Randolph wouldn't be so bad of a trade.
yes it would because he doesnt fill our needs, we would not gain anything from having him on the team, maybe 6 or 7 more wins, but that is all.

<div class="quote_poster">AKIRA Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">yes it would because he doesnt fill our needs, we would not gain anything from having him on the team, maybe 6 or 7 more wins, but that is all.</div> Lakers do need someone to take some of the scoring load off of Kobe. If ZBo were on the team Kobe wouldn't have to score so much to give his team a chance to win. Randolph would also give the Lakers a legit post threat and a guy who can dominate the glass. His defense is poor but the L's defense as a whole is bad anyway and hes not much worse, if at all, compared to Odom and Walton. JO is a better all around player because hes a very good defensive player and alters a lot of shots but he'll cost a lot more. Like someone mentioned above, it depends on what the Lakers want to give up. If they'll give Odom and Bynum thats probably enough to land JO (thats assuming hes even available). In short it comes down to whether they'd rather have Kobe/JO (if JO becomes available) or Kobe/Randolph/Bynum. I think that if the Lakers decide that they want either they have a very good shot at both though so the decision is really theirs.
I would not mind Zach Randolph, I just dont want kobe to be traded for him we need to make a sticky "THE KEEP KOBE CLUB"
