<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He looked like a 44-year-old man with a shaved head. But new Charlotte Bobcats coach Sam Vincent sure sounded like Raymond Felton on Friday. "I absolutely, positively anticipate this team being in the playoffs," Vincent said, "and I would be incredibly discouraged and disappointed if we don't" qualify. Bobcats point guard Felton boldly -- and incorrectly -- predicted the playoffs each of his first two NBA seasons. But Vincent has a better chance to be right; the team he inherits played like one of the eight best in the Eastern Conference at the end of this season. Vincent said he received a three-year contract. He didn't discuss salary or whether he or the Bobcats have any option clauses for a fourth season. Despite his inexperience -- Vincent has never been an NBA head coach or lead assistant -- the Bobcats' coach sounds confident and assertive. Lee Rose, who coached the Charlotte 49ers to the Final Four in 1977, said Vincent is more ready than the public might anticipate. "He's really focused, he's articulate and he's extremely well-organized in everything he does," said Rose, who mentored Vincent as supervisor of coaches in the NBA's developmental league.</div> Source: The Charlotte Observer
Jordan almost called them the Chicago Bobcats. lol. I hope they make it. So they can have a taste, and come back the next year for more.
They expect to make the playoffs which with players. Come on they will need to get some good drafts pick and some good trades which they don't even have all star players...
If the same team comes back we add 2 first rounders, in a deep draft, to a team that was capeable of going to the playoffs this year and would have had it not been for injuries. East is horrible it won't be hard to get in if our players can stay healthy and only teams with All-stars make the playoffs? Makes sense

Okafor is a very solid big, Gerald Wallace had a great season last year with 18 ppg, 7 rpg, 2.6 apg, 2 spg, 1 bpg, Raymond Felton is pretty solid and only getting better, May is a good big and Matt Carroll had a good season last year. The key will be Morrison and whoever they pick up in the draft or FA. They desperately need a go-to scorer or two because they're set everywhere else with a good young pure PG, a couple of good young bigs, good overall defensive team, etc.
I think Charlotte isn`t too far from making the playoffs in the coming years, but with the roster now, they do need that big scorer and some other pieces. The East may be weak, but it`s gonna take the Cats some time first.
