Cutler will now serve as Jake Plummer's backup. And while this day may have been imminent, it arrived sooner than anyone may have anticipated. Except for Cutler, that is. He wasn't surprised by the move. "I was happy," Cutler said. "I think I've done some good things and picked it up pretty quick. "I still have a lot to learn." The learning curve hasn't been all that steep for Cutler. Denver coach Mike Shanahan has been impressed with his prized quarterback so far in camp. "He's picked up things very quickly and thrown the ball extremely well," Shanahan said. -- The Associated Press As Bell nervously climbed the stairs, different scenarios raced through his head. All of them negative. "I was shaking," Bell said. Bell was shaking with excitement after Shanahan informed him he'd been elevated to the top running back position. Bell couldn't believe he'd bypassed Ron Dayne and Tatum Bell. On Monday, Mike Bell was running with the first-team offense. Tatum Bell is second on the depth chart and Dayne third. "This is a dream come true," said Bell, an undrafted rookie out of Arizona who grew up a Broncos fan. "For him [Shanahan] to give me the opportunity to be the starter [for] a great organization like this is a blessing."</div>
I am sure of one thing. He is there strictly to motivate tatum. Tatum will get lions share of carries
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Tatum will get lions share of carries</div> Be sure that you draft him in the Fantasy League... Can't miss!

Mike Bell did well at the University of Arizona. I am surprised he was not drafted on day 2.
What the difference the Broncos could have a donkey in the backfield and he would gain 1000 yards. Sorry Terrel Davis but it's the system

Depth Charts created before the 1st preseason game are just a motivational tool....I'll believe it if hes the starter on September 10th....

He would consider penalty flags and the rulebook as quaint remnants from the past that don?t apply in such an important game. c. Many on his team would be playing with leather helmets unless they bought there own composite ones. d. He call the same play over and again while claiming that his one-yard gains were five-yard gains, and then complain about the media reporting one yard gains. To lift a quote from DPGB, "BF1 Started it."

Sounds like Shanahan thinks he can take anyone and turn them into a 1000 yard back. Unless this is a motavation tactic I think his ego is getting the best of him. Seems like he's only coaching to show off he's a genius (example drafting Clarrett in round 3) Then again I shouldn't doubt the move. They've had the best rushing offense since the late 90's.
I want to see Mike Bell in the preseason. He only rushed for like 900 yards last year in college, but maybe he can thrive in zone blocking.
