You all act very disappointed in the Caron-Kwame trade and of course I am too, but we didn't expect him to turn out this bad. I remember watching Kwame at the beginning of his career with the Lakers, and everyone had high expectations. No one thought that he would have trouble catching the ball. Had we known, we would have gone after another guy, but he was said to be great. I wish the Boozer trade had gone through. That was a great opportunity.
Kwame Brown actually had a streak of great games late last season. He was expected to follow through with his improved play this season, but injuries and inconsistent playing time have hurt his confidence. As a result, he turned into a big pile of worthless crap

Yeah, people were already calling him the biggest bust at #1 in recent memory. He was supposed to dominate NBA big men. In fact, he's a bigger bust at #1 than Joe Smith was for the Warriors, if only because Joe Smith was, and is, servicable in nearly all facets of the game. Kwame ain't nothin'.
Kwame is actually an above average post defender I would say, but he definitely has a lot of room for potential on the offensive end.

He needs to improve every aspect of his game to be a legit centre. If he where more athletic, I would put him at the PF position, but he isn't. I think the Lakers should trade him for picks and fillers, no need to keep him if you have Bynum and Mihm, both much better players.

This is Kwame's 6th year in the league and there's been little improvement from him.
I can't believe I defended Kwame Brown. He's a bust, it's time to admit that. There is no potential there.
O'Connor never really wanted to trade Boozer, it was the fans that didn't like him. I admit I thought he was a waste of money but I knew he was good. The only trade I ever really like that was a rumor was the Al Jefferson and Wally Szerbiak w/ a 1st I think. That wouldn't of been all that bad but I never really like anything they were being offered, so it couldn't of been all that appealing to O'Connor. Utah had just signed Giricek to that contract for 4 million a year, so Caron Butler wouldn't of been good for the future cap wise. Mihm is a good C but Utah had Memo, they needed to keep the one physical player they had cuz Mihm isn't all that tough. You guys never really had any hope for Artest or Bibby cuz they're your rivals, the Maloofs are the kind of owners that make sure their GM knows not to trade with their divisional foes. Then the Kidd deal, you didn't offer anything worth the Nets time, they only wanted Bynum and you guys weren't moving him. Baron Davis was dirt cheap, anyone could of had him, so that's the only real chance you guys blew.

According to the interview, Boozer talked to Kobe on the phone to see what he could do to get Boozer traded to the Lakers. I'm sure Boozer wanted out at the time and there were several rumors linking to the Lakers because he was rehabbing in LA etc. I'm sure it's not the case now, because Boozer has resurrected himself this year with the fans, but 2 or 3 years ago they wanted his head on a platter.
