If he's around when the Warriors use their second pick, which by all accounts he will be, they should give a hard look at Trey Johnson, the 6-5 SG from Jackson State. He's a tremendously polished offensive player, and has been working in a system at Jackson State which didn't use strict playcalling, but instead operated a motion offense with precise passing and shooting. Second leading scorer in college hoops last year, and known for his tremendous work ethic. With the possible departures of Pietrus and/or Barnes, I would be thrilled to take a second round shot at this guy.
Trey Johnson - Current Team: Jackson State, Senior Physicals: H: 6' 5" W: 218 lbs Bday: 8/3/1984 (22 Years Old) Positions: Current: SG/SF NBA: SG Possible: SG Rankings: Round: 2 Pick: 12 in 2007 Mock Draft Rank 15 in NCAA Seniors Rank 10 in Top-20 '07 SGs <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It takes a special kind of athlete to achieve high levels of success in two sports. Trey Johnson is a special athlete. Coming out of high school he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals as a pitching prospect. Johnson decided to pass on the major leagues and try his hand at the college game first. He attended Northeast Mississippi Community College for a year before moving on to Alcorn State. Any future in baseball though came to an abrupt end when Johnson tore ligaments in his arm in his very first appearance for the Braves; he would require Tommy John surgery to repair his pitching arm. Luckily for Johnson, he had taken up basketball several years earlier.</div> This guy is an amazing athelete. Could of been a pitcher for the Royals decided to play ball. Averaged 27 a game last year. A sub par defender, but is an offensive explosion. Would fit well with the Warriors or Suns.

Yeah, that Minny 2nd rounder came from the fateful Marc Jackson trade. Can't believe it already has been nearly 10 years...
Good for the Warriors with 3 picks. They can get some quality players with those picks. So if Peitrus and Barnes leave, they can have fillers that can most likely produce more, and be more of an impact.

I'm starting to be less concerned with losing Pietrus/Barnes, especially considering you never know who/what you can land in the draft. Here's to hoping the # 36 or #46 pick is another Monta Ellis!!
While I'd welcome the addition of another tall ballhandler that can dribble drive penetrate and pass off and also shoot, I'm dying for Mullin to package something in this draft and get us an athletic rebounder or a big name power forward like Kevin Garnett/Jermaine O'neil/Pau Gasol or at worst a guy like Jamaal Magloire or younger Dale Davis. But yeah, another ballhandler would be great because I don't see us doing anything if Sjax and Baron fail to get inside and Jrich and Harrington are too easy to strip with the ball. Don't get me started about Pietrus/Fisher dribble drive... Ellis is all right, but needs work on his decision-making. I'll take a Brandon Roy or Supermanu or Brent Barry or a Joe Johnson or a Mike Miller if there is one in this draft. I like Diaw, but his free throw shooting sucks. Playmaker + good shooter + quickness is what we need more of
Some "experts" are predicting Sean Williams to go mid-late first round, I think it could be a good possibility, that kind of inside defense is hard to come by, and that guy is a shot blocking animal, averaged 5.0bpg for Boston College last season, although he did only played 15 games. Although he sounds a bit "Ron Artestish"

Kind of makes him Foyle-Lite. Stephane Lasme is a guy with a FAR better attitude-equal or better shotblocking-much better rbds,faster.......and can be had rd 2-perhaps even at 46

A bunch of 13 pt a game guys who MIGHT become good--might not. A Bird in the hand thing? Late.....Jason Smith,Nick Fazekas,Herbert Hill are guys who....SCORE....REBOUND...do NOT require a trade up. Deal Monta and ? for Josh Smith? Young..long future...D...Rebounds. If we trade J Rich for...whatever....THEN I'd consider a wing SF/SG with Morris Almond or Dominic McGuire the options. McGuire has dazzling numbers for shotblocks, rebounds, assists. Almond can be a Michael Redd/J Rich scorer.....can shoot from anywhere including the FT line and # arc. A guy LIKE Magliore or Davis were? or the actual Magliore or Davis? We have a mediocre and expensive backup C we seldom used....one seems plenty. Nellie obviously has faith in Barnes and I'm pretty sure he's back unless someone goes over MLE with an offer. Pietrus? It may depend on the bids. We might do any of many things including matching--then trading him later. The Aim will be to ADD via the draft-not to lose FA's and semi-replace them with our picks.However---there's a lot of variables. A trade can fill one need and shift priorities.
Trey Johnson did not impress me as real efficient. If we've covered the rebounder/PF needs-then we may try Zabian Dowdell of Va Tech,a combo G who's special at stepping up under pressure-and who did well at the ACC level. Reggie Williams of VMI scored as well as Trey....might also be a legit sleeper.
Well, I will tell you the truth, I have never seen this guy play before. Though the way you put it he seems like he would be a pretty player for us and then take Sean Williams in the second round and Josh McRoberts as our first. Though Hill might be a very good fit onto our team. Josh McRoberts at #18
