JVG - Taking a Charge

    This is surprising to hear. I don't know if its legitimate, but heres a quote from JVG. "Step into a guy's path so he runs into you, that's not playing defense."
    Apparently he dislikes people stepping in the lane to take charges.

    I'm pretty sure he's referring to when players try to draw a charge by stepping in front of a player who's not even involved in a basketball play. Like, when they're just jogging down court or when it's on the weakside. The Phoenix Suns like to do stuff like that, for instance. It is damn annoying.

    Trying to draw a charge in order to stop an offensive player from making a play of course is legitimate. Maybe old school purists see it differently.
