    if we traded tmac for kobe we probably would have to throw in another player or two with him also.........I doubt it happens though.....but if it did I could become a kobe fan, but it would kinda suck to see tmac go (I've really grown to like him)

    I would hate for Kobe to be on the Rockets. He is a selfish player that can destroy a team from within. TBH, I would still much rather have Tmac.

    I completely agree with this article on Kobe. He's nothing but a backstabber willing to do whats best for his own self interest.

    His self-interest is winning titles, why would you have a problem with that?

    Why is this even being discussed? The Lakers would never trade Kobe for TMac.

    I'm sure forcing the Lakers to trade Shaq really helped win titles.

    You need to get caught up on the headline news. The Lakers were trading Shaq regardless if Kobe re-signed with the Lakers or not. He had no impact on the OWNER's decision to move Shaq. The owner didn't feel Shaq was worth the $30M per season he wanted.

    then for who???...the lakers need another allstar in return for Kobe, and Tmac with a couple of other additions could possibly get the job done....but like I said in another thread something tells me he'll be back in LA come next season

    I doubt that....none of us were behind those doors so we don't know for sure if Kobe had a minor impact on shaq being moved, but I don't think the lakers trade shaq if they don't think Kobe isn't coming back.

    The two people in the room (Kobe & Dr Buss) have both gone on record saying Shaq was going to be traded no matter what Kobe ended up doing.

    You can believe what you want, but based on their statements those are the facts.

    IF the Lakers are stupid enough to trade Kobe to a Western conference rival, Houston would be the most logical situation. They'd be getting TMac, who would also sell tickets and bring a great amount of flair to the court the same way Kobe did. Also, you figure we'd probably throw in Juwan Howard and luther Head if the Lakers would throw in Brian Cook, who I believe would THRIVE playing alongside Yao as a deep-shooting 4.

    But in all honesty, I don't see the Lakers trading Kobe to anyone in the West. Right now, the most plausible option for them is shipping Bryant and Bynum to Chicago for Ben Wallace, Ben Gordon and Luol Deng.

    Wow foo82, that article is pretty harsh on Kobe, but for some reason its not a very far fetched idea at all that it describes Kobe perfectly.

    At any rate, true or not, I wouldn't want Kobe playing for the Rockets anyways. He might give us a chance (not a very good one) at winning the championship but at what cost? Franchise destruction? I don't think so.

    It sounded like this "ex-associate" was bitter and really generalized the situation in LA.

    Shaq admitted he started quarrels first against Kobe and Penny in an August 24, 2006 interview with NBA.com.

    Why is Shaq such an innocent guy? The guy wanted 33 million dollars a year and it did seem like he was breaking down. The Heat are already screwed for the next three years because of Shaq ($$$$$$$$$$$), and they only got to the Finals because they play in the East.

    After this post.............I've totally given up on debating you[IMG]

    Kobe is the best shooting guard in NBA history besides MJ. Why in HELL would anybody not want him on their team. I love Tmac, but I'd trade his ass with the quickness for Kobe. Let's see:
    <div align="center">
    KOBE
    </div>
    Great player/ Future Hall of famer/3time Champion/Allstar/ Best player in NBA

    FOR

    <div align="center">TMAC</div>

    Very Good player/Allstar/ Jumpshooter

    A 1 for 1 trade would not happen. We would have to trade someone else as well. As of now, our bench and scoring option is already pretty thin. You want to stretch it even thinner? There's no question Kobe is the better player. What are you willing to give up though? Don't say novak/vspan/jl3, cuz those 3 won't cut it.

    Maybe I just hate Kobe.

    We don't need another All-Star in return for Kobe Bryant. If we trade away Kobe, it means that we're starting over, fresh. What we need in a trade for Kobe is a couple of draft picks and young talent for the future, because we'd obviously be rebuiling. Trading for McGrady, who is probably one back injury from retirement will get us absolutely no where. The Rockets also don't have any "young" talent that I'm interested in
