<div class="quote_poster">Brian Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">We don't need another All-Star in return for Kobe Bryant. If we trade away Kobe, it means that we're starting over, fresh. What we need in a trade for Kobe is a couple of draft picks and young talent for the future, because we'd obviously be rebuiling. Trading for McGrady, who is probably one back injury from retirement will get us absolutely no where. The Rockets also don't have any "young" talent that I'm interested in</div>

Exactly, No star can equal Kobe, I'm sorry. The Lakers will trade for young, which I highly doubt they will this year. He will be in a Laker uniform to begin the year. The Lakers want to start fresh, re-build around Bynum and Farmar and whoever they get for Kobe. Which is exactly what they should do, if Kobe wants out so bad, send him out. But we all know, well I would hope, that he isn't going anywhere till he opts out.

I just tried out the ESPN Trade Machine. 1 for 1 trade will be able to happen. But, I doubt that will happen.

If they could somehow pull out "Kobe for Juwan + Alston + Sura" trade, it would be awesome. [IMG]

This was what i was thinking!!!

Kobe for Tmac and maybe Bonzi or Head

Kobe would likely accept this trade IF:

    Bibby signed for the MLE
    Divac was recruited by Adelman

    Rockets lineup:
Bibby, Kobe, Battier, Howard, Yao = NBA Dynasty!!!

I'm not talking about salary. I'm talking about there's no way in hell that the Lakers would take that trade.

What makes you think Bibby would sign for less than half of what he makes?

<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">then for who???...the lakers need another allstar in return for Kobe, and Tmac with a couple of other additions could possibly get the job done....but like I said in another thread something tells me he'll be back in LA come next season

I doubt that....none of us were behind those doors so we don't know for sure if Kobe had a minor impact on shaq being moved, but I don't think the lakers trade shaq if they don't think Kobe isn't coming back.</div>

If Kobe was lying, Buss would have defended himself by now instead of issuing a statement saying "I don't want to talk about it."

You'd need to throw in picks, and they'd have to be high picks... presuming, of course, that Yao is untouchable. If you're willing to trade Yao, you might be able to get Bryant and McGrady both rolling in red and white. That would leave a hole at center, but you could certainly find some semi-useful stopgap like Jamal Magloire that would keep pace.

    PG Alston
    SG Bryant
    SF McGrady
    PF ?
    C ?

Huh... seeing it all typed out like that, that IS rather thin...

Well the Lakers have Andrew Bynum as their center for years to come, so I think that TMac would even have more appeal to them than Yao.

If Houston were to trade for Kobe, TMac would almost certainly be in the deal. However, I just can't see the Lakers trading Kobe to their own conference.
