Jets RB Curtis Martin is reportly out of knee cartlidge and is running bone on bone. Depth behind him is slim with Derrick Blaylock being the most veteran with around 850 yards.

    Will he retire??

I think he probably will... At this point, he should probably start worrying about his long term health.

I would like to see him hang on a few more years. He won rushing title just 2 seasons ago!

I'd like to see him hang on too but wish him the best regardless.

Hanging on with bone against bone? I think you guys need to look into what amount of pain that involves. I have a condition in which under extreme stress my knee cap shifts (out of its normal groove) and grinds against the other bones in the joint (chondromalacia). It is the second worst pain I've ever felt in my life when it flairs. You can fight through it, but afterwards you feel like someone stuck a needle in and tattooed the underside of your kneecap. If further micorsurgical solutions aren't an answer, Curtis needs to retire and consider the rest of his life. You want to be able to bounce that grandson on your knee.

He's definitely one of my favorite former Patriot players. Class guy & always gave 100%. I think if he knows he won't be able to that any more then he'll hang them up.

Curtis Martin told the Jets earlier this year to take a 1st round RB. Curtis says he wants to play, but i dont think he should risk it. He could be in a wheelchair the rest of his life if he tries to play on it some more.

It's a shame that he has to go through this. Same reason for Faulk as well, you have to think about your health in the long run.

btw Martin said that the rumors of him retiring are greatly exaggerated and he thinks hes way too young to retire and still thinks he can contribute
