Personally, I love the cannons, I find them hilarious. I'll post my thoughts after finishing it. I've heard half of it.

Stephen A Smith thinks it is John Black or Mitch...

They did calm him down a lot, but I just think too much damage has been done. Right now is when you'll get the most value for Kobe, once he finally calms down. If you're building for the future, trade him for great young talent before he walks when he can opt out his contract.

Call him Buss, if you want to save your ship.

Kobe is KING! he must stay otherwise we become Celtics or Clippers. If he leaves no good player will want to play in LA for a long time.

    Kobe don't leave me!!!!!!!!

Interesting interview. The "peace" guy is annoying as **** though, all that "purging" crap was annoying. I don't really think he calmed Kobe down at all, Kobe was just breathing really hard and scoffing whenever the "long term plan" came up.

The whole thing about the Shaq ordeal is quite intriguing as well. He says it perfectly; all the "good parts" of thier relationship isn't really that news friendly, so obviously people won't know about it.

you dont like Vic? lol, people in LA love the guy ...

Hartman, who is a notorious Kobe/Lakers criticizer (i wont go as far as to say hater) really stepped up and made some great points to kobe, how he forgave Phil for his book and how that has turned out great, and how now he should forgive Dr Buss the same way.

Yeah he needs to come to a definitive conclusion on his future and stop talking to the media at this point.

Have a meeting with Dr. Buss, Jim Buss, Mitch, and PJax. Sort out your differences with them behind closed doors and make it clear to them you want to win now and will do what you can to make that happen.

Then apologize to the fans for this breakdown, apologize to your teammates, and apologize to anyone you put in awkward situation with your comments.

Then invite Andrew Bynum to workout with you at 4:30am every morning and help him become the dominant big man the organization believes he can be. If your success is going to be linked to Bynum breaking out, you better do everything you can to make him a better player in the offseason.

Teach him the history of the Lakers, the mystique and what it means to put on the Golden armor. Make him watch video footage of you and Shaq taking care of business. Help Bynum find his competitive fire and if Bynum isn't willing to work hard and follow your lead, then he doesn't deserve to be the future cornerstone for this team.

At this point in time, it feels like Kobe is a spoiled child. The one who kicks and stomps when he doesn't win the video game. The one who moans and rolls his eyes when he doesn't get his way.

Right now, I think I'm losing respect for Kobe. What about all that jargon he was talking to his teamates? Being patient? Was that all bullspit?

It's like he lost respect to this organization, the same one that got him 3 pieces of jewelry.

i think you're missing kobe's message ... he is asking for a better team, but he didn't ask to get traded because his team stinks .. he asked to get traded because he believes this insider is backstabbing him and no one in management is doing anything about it. If that's the case, he has a valid point

He even said he realizes that if he gets traded, it will be to a team that will have given up a lot for him, and as a result, not be a contending team either

part of the problem (in kobes eyes) is that this isnt the same organization that gave him three rings. the organization that did that had West as a GM and Dr. Buss running the show. Not Kup and Baby Buss. Kobe has No respect for those guys and he also has no thoughts outside his own success. because if he did he would know that championships take time. He was just lucky enough to be traded to the right place and drafted at the right time. to have success early in his career.

I find it funny how opinions on this whole issue have changed so quickly and frequently. I was going through this forum at work, during the afternoon and Kobe seemed to have the sympathy of anyone attached to the NBA. Now its a little later at night and people are labelling him a "crybaby" and giving him a lot of blame.

I personally think its somewhere in the middle. For the life of me, I cannot understand why the Lakers front office has let Kobe self-destruct through the media without getting a hold of him. They've become complacent for some reason and not only potentially lost Kobe Bryant but also lost any leverage they would've had if they do trade him. And as frustrating as this must be for Kobe, he's really got to show some self-restraint and control. This all started out by him setting the record straight, which I had no problem with. But he's let this "Laker insider" totally get inside his head and, honestly, I feel like he's allowed the media to turn him into an emotional "walking headline." Just because the Buss' have lacked class, doesn't mean he had to become impatient and go down to their level. Very little of all this should've gone public, IMO.

This organization is pretty much a mess right now. Nobody knows what's going on, everyone has their own opinions, people are arguing left and right, Kobe's not happy, there's a Buss family fued, Kurt Rambis has had some words of choice for Jim Buss, and on top of it all, I've heard rumors saying that the "insider" is our very own Jim Buss....

    WTF??!!

Basically everyone deserves a share of the blame for the mess that has developed (although some deserve more than others).

All this drama has actually been so much more interesting and entertaining than the NBA playoffs (kind of sad when you think about it).

Kobe had a mental breakdown in 48 hours, infront of the whole world basically (well, through his voice on the radio). It's quite a fascinating circumstance. Kobe's usually poised and calm, but he is understandly frustrated. There was no point in saying he wanted to be traded and then taking it back 2 seconds later though, regardless of Jermaine O'Neal or not.
