I agree with most everything he's written. I would still maintain that the principle problem with the Spurs lies not in people hating their style of play, because for stretches they can be a very dynamic offensive team. I think it's mostly Ginobili's flopping and Bowen's... other things.

I think it's mostly Ginobili's flopping and Bowen's... other things.</div> no i dont think thats why. its definetly because the NBA is now a game where a lot of teams are going back to the older fast break high paced game thats REALLY fun to watch. the spurs always play a really methodical slow paced half court game, and they play defense. teams like detroit and san antonio arent very high with the fan who isnt deep into the NBA because its not exactly the funnest thing to watch good defensive rotation and help defense. its something thats a must to win games, but detroit and san antonion depend on it a lot more then there offense (a bigger margin then other championship teams). these 2 teams depend on their defense to get back into games a lot of the time, while other exciting teams look to there offense most of the time and thats why its boring to watch them and they dont have as many fans. i def. think they are great teams, but what would you rather watch: a team that has great offense thats high paced with some high flyers or a methodical team who lets tim duncan post up alot. would you rather watch a team that might not be too good defensivley but gets a few monster blocks here and there, or a defensive team thats very good, but not at all explosive and looks more to rotate quickly and be good with help defense. the common eye doesnt notice help defense and good rotation. it notices big time blocks and great dunks, and thats why they dont get as big a fan base as other teams like pheonix, who arent IMO even close to the spurs, yet they have many more fans.

Their most controversial player is Bruce Bowen and Tony Parker is best known for the guy dating Eva Longoria. None of their players give any memorable interviews or soundbites. Popovich is as about exciting as watching paint dry on the wall. Personally I enjoy watching San Antonio's execution on both ends of the court. I'm a big fan of Oberto, he's all over the court making things happen for the Spurs. This is the Spurs title to lose, I don't see the Finals going past 5 games unless San Antonio suffers a key injury.
