Cory Rodgers has been less than impressive fielding kicks so far. I saw a long list of potential replacements for him in that role, including Gado and Davenport.

There's also been a lot of talk about moving Barnett out of the middle linebacker spot. Something he's not very happy with...

Yeah the coaches haven't said anything about Barnett playing SLB so that Hodge can play MLB. Right now it's more the local media thinking that because Hodge has looked argueably better than Hawk this far into camp.

Rodgers was a great return man at TCU so I'm guessing he's just having first year jitters right now. He fielded them find at the scrimmage. Saturday will be fun too watch.

What do you think of Donald Lee overtaking Bubba. Probably won't happen but as a receiver I'm starting to warm up to Donald. I think what keeps Bubba as #1 is his blocking which I'm not sure how Donald rated at

Bubba is a better receiver. Lee had flashes of brilliance, but dropped a lot of catchable balls last year.

I, personally, would like to see more two tight end sets implemented into the offense.

McCarthy will use 2 TE sets a lot in the offense. McCarthy's offense is closer to Mike Holmgrem's offense than Sherman's.

McCarthy wants to make Bubba Franks a more down the field threat rather than just a redzone guy. Pretty much he wants Franks to be our Mark Churmaha and Lee and Martin to be the Keith Jackson.

Donald Lee will never overthrow Bubba for the starting spot. Bubba has solid hands but most importantly he's a great blocker.

That is true he did have some drops. Forget which game but I was pist when he was wide open deep and Brett threw a perfect ball and it bounced off his head. I just wish Bubba gets his old form back but i guess the team problems are as big a reason as any for that

Bubba was hurt for ahwile last year, plus the play calls seemed like 50 yard bombs every other play, not much room for Bubba last year.

I see Chad Lucas in the practice squad and sometime in the future moveing out of NFLE and into the packers NFL WR Core.

Does Bubba have the speed though to be a downfield threat? The one thing i like about Mcarthy is it seems the best player will eran the spot if he's a rookie or a 5 year vet

I have an apartment in Green Bay ... I watched a little practice on Thursday morning with my three kids. We liked the big picture of Kevin Jones on the Don Hudson building. [IMG]

If you mentioned the phrase "cement hands" to any 'phins fan, the 1st thing that would pop up is Donald Lee.

He was brought as a blocking TE by Wanny and released in 2004 because the very reason listed above - he drops too many easy passes. This was one time Dave W actually "admitted" a mistake and corrected it.

Trying to haul in passes from Feidler then adjusting to Favre's can't be easy IMO. LOL.

The thing is he actually made some great grabs last year too! I don't understand, he could catch Favre's Bulletts, but Fiedlers little beebees he couldn't lol.

He did step in and make 33 grabs last year when other Tight ends went down. All I'll say is I was pleasantly surprised to see what he could do after I never really noticed him before. I think David Martins running the risk of becoming a bust.
