well that's the thing if you look at their stats and their play you might actually say Hakeem had more longevity, but he played in a harder era so it wasn't recognized as much.....[/QUOTE]

Duncan also matured much quicker than Hakeem. Probably than anyone in NBA history.

I think athletically the average NBA player today is better, but IQ and allround game wise he's worse than the 80's average player. I don't know if that's cause kids are working out younger, or better trainers or what, but it seems that way.

Lebron is starting to blow everyone out the water as far as maturity is concerned lol....I could see an argument there though.....the funny thing is I think Duncan peaked before Hakeem and now seems to be on the downside of his career (although he's still great)

lol his maturity is on the downslide? so he's getting younger again? in 5 years he'll be taking ill-advised trick shots and popping his jersey? haha

While 04+ he had Rasho taking that responsibility.

I know that, but still see the numbers. Duncan's are better.

Anyway, it actually is a comparison of how Shaq played over David Robinson vs. Duncan over Robert Horry.

<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">no they shouldn't but Shaq + Kobe doesn't equal Shaq + Penny + D Rob + Malone + Stockton + Barkley + KJ (who played out of his mind in that series) + Rodman either.....in all my years of watching b-ball I dont think I've see "one" team go through a championship caliber team in every round of the playoffs, what the Dream and the rockets did that year was incredibly special...</div>

That is somewhat true but Shaq + Kobe is the best combo out of all the ones you mentioned, and Duncan had to face them in the earlier rounds.
