<div class="quote_poster">Eclipse Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Why would anyone want Francis, a crybaby who whines about playing time but doesn't produce when he gets it, making 16 and 17 million for the next two year no less? Marbury is going to make 20 and 21 million for the next two seasons and really has done nothing in his career to warrant that kind of money. Lee and Frye would be the only players that I would be remotely interested in. Crawford (8, 8,5 milion) - for someone who's only strength is shooting, a 40% career FG% is mediocre.</div> Francis' contract ending in only 2 years is precisely why the Lakers would be interested in him. Again, I'm not saying that this is the best deal for the Lakers. I'm saying if Kobe is truly interested to play for New York and the Lakers want to grant him his wish, then this deal would happen.

Name some players in that Knick bench that are better than the Lakers. We got Andrew Bynum Roony Turiaf Brian Cook Radman Could the Knicks beat that?

Renaldo Balkman great D player Jamal Craw 18PPG Nate Robinson 10PPG David Lee great player 10 and 10 Frey 10 and like 7rebs
What name calling?I'm the nicest person.lol What NY player could beat or guard well a Wallace, Halmition or Billups. Umm none sorry. What about James could they keep him in check no... Bynum ain't no starter Brown was... The Lakers and Knicks bench suck but the Lakers is a little better. I'm out it was nice talking to you!
I just want you guys to post a reasonable trade that would be desirable to both teams with all the salaries matching up. Again, even if Kobe wants to be traded to the Knicks (big if), the Knicks have to make a very attractive offer to trump anything that the Bulls or any other team can come up with. Kobe can't just demand to be traded to one team, that's is highly unrealistic. Kobe will give the owner a list of teams which he would want to be traded to so the Knicks will have to come up with something pretty damn good. Not to mention the fact that Kobe has made it clear that he's tired of losing and wants to play somewhere where they're going to contend. The Knicks have not shown anything resembling the ability to do that yet.

When everyone is healthy, the team is decent. I never said any player had any value. I said if Kobe wants to be traded and the Lakers want to accomodate his request, then the players the Knicks will trade won't be Marbury/Francis (choose one) or Curry since: A) Lakers have Andrew Bynum and Curry will stunt his growth The Lakers do not have the salary capacity to acquire all three players who will be making a grand total of about $45 million, not including trade kickers/bonuses, etc. <div class="quote_poster">Ongoing Question:</div><div class="quote_post">Why would Kobe want to play for the Knicks?</div> - He said it himself a few months ago - A Western Conference executive said it But at the end of the day I understand this is a rumor and likely won't happen. However, for what it's worth, if Kobe were to be traded to the Knicks, they would be a very good team with a very good nucleus to build around. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting lakersfan171 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">What name calling?I'm the nicest person.lol What NY player could beat or guard well a Wallace, Halmition or Billups. The Knicks bench is deeper and has better players than the Lakers. Why are they better. Anyway, I really don't want to turn this into a Knicks vs. Lakers thread since it's a complete detour from the original topic.
The Lakers bench is desent too. And the Lakers were a good team when healthy I'm sure this trade won't happen i don't think the Lakers are interested in any of The Knicks players.

I don't see Kobe asking for a trade because there worst then the Lakers. But he did ask for a trade and then back off so anything is possible.

They have to do what's best for the organization and not what's best for Kobe. What kind of loyalty is demanding for a trade anyways? The Lakers won't make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. They have to replace his 33 points a game somewhere and Francis/Frye/Lee etc. is not going to cut it (in fact, no where close). If they want any part of Francis it's because of his expiring contract but where does that leave the Lakers? Kobe for Lee and Frye and fillers. <div class="quote_poster">lakersfan171 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I don't see Kobe asking for a trade because there worst then the Lakers. It's like a broken record." When asked if he still wanted to be traded, he answered quickly and firmly: "Yes."</div> link: latimes
Honestly the Knicks have nothing the Lakers want. Not a thing. No superstars that come close to Kobe's production or marketability, no can't miss young talent. No high draft picks. The amount of people they'd have to give the lakers to trade for Kobe would leave them with literally half a roster. Not to mention, the Lakers would have to waive a substantial amount of their players just to make room for these new incoming players, and still pay salaries. Not gonna happen
The Knicks could make it happen, if this comes up again next summer. Another year, and the Knicks ugly contracts start having some value to make a run at a disgruntled superstar in return for cap relief. If we're talking this summer, the Knicks would likely need a 3rd team to into the mix willing to take on Marbury or Francis contract and send the Lakers back expiring K's or more draft picks.

Perhaps everything he's done and meant to the organization is why they will strongly consider his trade request. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The Lakers won't make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. Actually he still wants to be traded. After the first two interviews, he had another interview (the last from yesterday), which he reiterated that he wants to be traded. I know but he likes getting attention. Kobe wanting a trade was bigger than the Spurs making the Finals. I hope he knows the Lakers almost have Jermaine O'neal just to please him.And Artest too so if he leaves that will be a big mistake.

Can't both teams get better offers elsewhere?
No the deal is said to be done since the Pacers President is in love with Bynum and wants him to play for them.
