Cowheard had Bucher on this morning and here is what he had to say.

Cowheard asked what will happened.

Bucher said that sometime today, Buss will meet with (or speak to) Kobe and tried to convince him to stay. The discussion will take place because Buss is leaving to Italy.

Bucher thinks that Kobe will continue to state that he wants to be traded. If Buss cannot convince him, Kobe will be traded.

Bucher thinks that Buss has a chance to convince Kobe that they are serious and will seek to improve the team. Buss did it before he can hopefully do it again. If Buss can make him believe it, Kobe will stay.

Bucher still thinks that Kobe will be traded.

Cowheard went off and said that the fall guy on this whole matter will be Kupchak. How can Kupchak get a job when on his resume it will be I traded Shaq and Kobe.

Bucher said that people have to understand that it is the Busses (Jerry and Jim) that are making these decisions. It was the Busses that didn't want to pay Shaq.

Bucher said that is why Jerry West left because when he made decisions, it was always being second guessed or didn't go forward.

Bucher said that people have to realize the Jim Buss has more power than Jerry now. That Jim Buss is the "Wizard" from "wizard of oz" who is making moves behind the curtain and Kupchak is the loyal solder. Kupchak is simply taking the blame and fall for some of the big decisions.

Cowheard said that you can't trade a superstar. You traded Shaq and look at what happens. There will be too much pressure on the players that come in.

Bucher agreed that Odom and Butler had a hard time in the beginning but they have more respect.

Cowheard finally asked what trade will happen.

Bucher said there are too many trades out there but none of them are true because Kobe is not on the market. However, once he is on the market. Every team will be calling.

In the end, the Lakers will have to make a decision on what is best for the team v. what is best for Kobe. If it what is best for the team, they will look to the West.l If it is what Kobe wants, they will only consider offer from teams that Kobe wants. (ie. Chicago, etc. )

Bucher spoke about the Bulls because Kobe is a place that he really wants to go to.

The Bulls will offer Gordon, P.J. Brown, Nocioni, and Thomas. The Lakers will demand Deng and Gordon. Bucher said that Bulls will not give him and we will see who blinks first. Cowheard said you cannot sell Deng to the Laker fans. Who want to see Deng???

The other plausible offer is the Sonics. R. Lewis and the second pick. You can sell that to the fans that we are getting a future hall of famer with Durant. However, no one knows if the Sonics are interested.

No kidding. I have to admit I do find the rumors entertaining, but hopefully the meeting is productive. At least Kobe has hit the right button and the organization is finally showing a pulse.

By the way, how come Dr. Buss is always flying out to Italy when the **** hits the fan? LOL.

If they do trade Kobe, the Lewis + #2 pick looks damn intriguing.

 

Kobe won't waive his clause to go to Seattle, so I think we can throw that out the window.

 

They said today he wasn't going to Italy, he was actually going to China. Great poker over there...
