It's funny because Dr. Z keeps bringing up Favre's interceptions and how he's closing in on George Blanda's all time interception record. The thing that the Doc fails to mention, though, is that Favre has twice the attempts and twice the completions of George Blanda. Heck, George Blanda once threw 42 interceptions in one season! And Blanda had ELEVEN seasons where he threw more interceptions than Touchdowns. Favre could break the record, but only because the sheer amount of throws he's made over his career is staggering.

Your telling me the all time leader in TD's and the 2nd leader in passing yardage and the NFL's only 3 Time MVP isn't going to be a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer? Too top it off Favre is a media darling. They're is NO way Favre doesn't get in on the 1st Ballot. As for skills fading, just 2 years ago he 4,088 yards and 30 TD's and 17 INT's. 4,000 passing yards and 30 TD's is really just awful then huh? I'd like to see if Troy Aikman (1st Ballot) Steve Young (1st Ballot) or Dan Marino (1st Ballot) put up those kind of numbers in they're 15th NFL season when they were 35 years old. Physically Favre has it. Mentally not so much. Either way, Favre will play better this year. He'll still throw maybe 20 INT's but Favre will not throw 30 this year. I'll guarantee Dr. Senile that.
"I guess this guy was so dense that he didn't understand that the fact that Favre is only 22 picks behind George Blanda's all-time career record is a negative stat. The reason why I mention all this now is that some of my loyal e-mailers, who are certainly blessed with more IQ points than this Green Bay creep, seem to be in his corner. Oh, the shame of it!" he obviously thinks very high of you PA lol, i believe Favre will be a 1st time ballot HOF he deserves it
i left him a comment DPGB style Not threats i swear...lol... :stupid: Dr Z on the left and Me on teh right.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>he obviously thinks very high of you PA</div> Actually, in that paragraph he's talking about a Green Bay sports reporter from the Press Gazette who wrote an article slamming Dr. Z. I think it was Chris Havel... He called my comments an "interesting point" referring to Steve Young's "purchased" Superbowl win, but said that I failed to address the decline in Favre's game.
If Brett Favre is allowed to throw another 30 interceptions this year, then everybody on the coaching staff and front office should be fired. I just wonder if anyone has the guts to bench Favre if he comes out throwing 3 to 4 interceptions a game to start the season. I must admit that my feelings toward Favre are starting to change. A couple of years ago, I would have listed him as my favorite QB behind Marino and Griese. I love the way he has fun with the game, but when I hear chessehead after cheesehead tear down other QBs, Marino in particular, to defend Farve, it starts to push my buttons. Like it or not, Brett Favre is not the QB that he used to be and the odds are that it's going to get worse, not better. Don't feel bad because that happens to every QB. It's called the aging process. Perhaps I should be thanking Packer fans instead. Please keep insisting that Brett Favre is bulletproof to all of the things that other QBs have to go through. Unlike Joe Montana, there's no way the Packers would ever trade him because Favre is the greatest. No one would ever have the guts to bench Brett Favre no matter how bad he stinks up the joint. Unlike every other QB that has played, Brett Favre's skills will never deteriorate and there will never be a good time for him to think about retiring and anyone who dares utter a negative word about Favre is just a complete moron. I should be thanking you because when Favre does mess up, it won't hurt so bad because I'm getting sick and tired of Favre. He's one of the greatest QBs to play the game, but enough is enough. Jeez.

Jeez.</div> If you referring to my post above then you took it way out of context. By no means am I bashing Marino and by no means do I think Favre is the QB he was even 2 years ago. I however do think Favre is a first ballot HOF and no questions ask. I was comparing Favre's 15th year in the NFL to Marino's Young's and Aikman's. They all were 1st Ballot Hall of famers. Favre's 15th year (30 TD?s, 17 INT?s and 4,000 yards) was arguably better. Last year was the worse season in Favre career and because he has a bad season, he "might" not be a first ballot HOF? That's ridiculous. He's the 2nd most decorated NFL passer to ever play the game only to Marino. He's won a Super Bowl and he's the only 3 Time MVP. As for a trade, I stated I'd support Favre where ever he goes. This situation is different from SF. The 49ers had Steve Young behind Joe Montana. Green Bay has Aaron Rodgers who is only in his 2nd year. Frankly Ted Thompson probably doesn't have the balls to trade Brett Favre. Mike McCarthy has criticize Favre already this year. I've criticize Favre on another forum for last year. I think he played awful last year. I think his decision making as a QB is one of the 5 worse in the league. Right up there with Aaron Brooks. This year with the players around Favre and a kind of new atmosphere, I think he'll be better. I don't see him throwing another 30 INT's and if he does, he should retire after this season because he simply can't do it no more. In terms of physically, I think Favre is still able to play the game. He can still throw the ball 60 yards. He still moves pretty good. Accuracy is a question but he did throw for 20 TD's and 3,800 yards a year ago with Donald Driver and Antonio Chatman at WR. Outside of the INT's and his horrible decision making a year ago that terrible. Decision making in my opinion is more of a mental aspect of the game. It?s certainly not something that physically effects you. If Favre plays a more conservative game this year, I think he can throw 20-25 TD's and bring the INT's down to about 17-20. Mentally I don't know. He questions himself too much. They say Football is more mental than physical. I was surprised he came back. Now that he?s back, I sure feel more confident about Green Bay winning 8 games than I would with Aaron Rodgers as QB. I think 8 wins would give this team confidence for next year. They are very young outside of Favre and Henderson. 8 wins this year is something to build off and set Aaron Rodgers up for the future. As for Favre being the greatest. I don't think that. I haven?t seen someone say he is the greatest ever on the forums. I think he's one of the greatest Packers of all time. Greatest Packer QB ever. One of the greatest QB's ever. All of that but I think John Elway is the greatest QB ever to play the game though. In my opinion it's hard to find an argument against Elway. He's won Super Bowls, had the numbers, and outside of Marino and Favre, he was probably the most gifted passer out there. I'm not sure if your post was directed to me, PA, FP, and some of the newer Packer fans here or your outside experience with Packer fans but I assure you, I don't consider "Lord" Favre a "lord" at all like some Packer fans do. For a fact I rather see ESPN cover Green Bay and mention guys like AJ Hawk and Greg Jennings. Update us on what they think Charles Woodson and Ryan Pickett are doing. I'm pretty sick of hearing Sean Salisberry bust his you know what for Brett Favre as well.
All players eventually decline or they sign w/ Detroit. But, isn't that the same thing? Let's ask Scott Mitchell & Damien Woody just to be safe. Regardless, Dr Z is a complete & total utter fool.
I have respect for all the great QB's cause simply put it's the hardest thing to do in sports. The only thing that bothers me when people are to lazy to do any research and as soon as a player has one bad year they all say he's had a few bad years. His 2 previous seasons he put up 30 and 32 td's and was over 90 rating each time so could it possibly be a guy just has a bad year which he did. I hope this year the defence gets the spot light cause I think that's where we'll when or lose games. Did anyone read that article on Johnny U in SI. I love Brett and Dan but I think it's hard to argue against him but he'll never get the praise cause most never saw him. All the top ranked players for stats are modern QB's except him. He was putting up the stats when no one else did. Also if you look at the way he controled a game he was like a sargeant much like Bart Starr. One thing different about Johnny and Bart is when the game started the coaches were completely useless and the players all say it themselves. Now all the QB's are just an extension of the coaches and the system. Brady and Favre may be modern warriors but I wonder if they could of taken the punishment Unitis did without slowing down. Here's to Johnny U a man I wish I could of seen play just once. I may have to retract all i just wrote as I saw BF1 actually agrees with Unitis as the best on another thread, can't have that happen to often
I found it funny in Starr's biography when he said he got a letter from the NFL adressed to the greatest QB ever and his wife asked him why they would send him a letter for Johnny Unitis. LOL
